So in Japanese verbs end with -masu (i.e. mimasu, tabemasu)
And so to change the verb to like negative or past tense, you take off the masu.
My sensei would always say "and don't forget to drop the masu" whenever we would make sentences and junk
Every time he said "Drop the masu" my brain would connect it to "Drop the bass"
And I kept that to myself til last month.
I was bored and sensei was saying drop the masu, so I turn to my friend and ask him if I'm weird for thinking drop the bass.
And he's like "Dafuq Alejandra? So every time sensei says 'Drop the masu' you think of a bass drop [insert sound of him making bass-dropping noise]?"
So then he asked the whole class out loud and they all stared at me and i was like omfg
After that, every time he saw me he would be like "Drop the masu [bass drop sounds]"
And he texted me that like last week omfg
