well you know statistics was invented as a tool for politicians. they were called "stat-ists". First it was just evidence by the numbers. then it got combined with probability theory and then thermodynamics. In fact, when Maxwell used it to describe average velocity of particles at a set temperature, he was not thinking of particles, but of people walking around. From the get-go the field was set up for interdisciplinary investigation of human behavior when in crowds. I really like it o.o
wow archaeology is really cool. I am kind of interested in the rise of urbanism in the middle east - how that kind of crystallized all of a sudden. I'm really into computational modeling statistical mechanical systems. It's very powerful for modeling city growth, but the initial crystallization events are something else. Same problem in trying to model chemical crystallization :c
