About
"So you want me to tell you the story of my life...?"
"Came in from a rainy Thursday
On the avenue
Thought I heard you talking softly
I turned on the lights, the TV
And the radio
Still I can't escape the ghost of you
What has happened to it all?
Crazy, some are saying
Where is the life that I recognize?
Gone away
But I won't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive..."

"Passion or coincidence
Once prompted you to say
"Pride will tear us both apart"
Well now pride's gone out the window
Cross the rooftops
Run away
Left me in the vacuum of my heart
What is happening to me?
Crazy, some'd say
Where is my friend when I need you most?
Gone away
But I won't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive"

"Papers in the roadside
Tell of suffering and greed
Here today, forgot tomorrow
Ooh, here besides the news
Of holy war and holy need
Ours is just a little sorrowed talk
And I don't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive
Every one
Is my world, I will learn to survive
Any one
Is my world, I will learn to survive
Any one
Is my world
Every one
Is my world..."

My name is Louis De Pointe Dulac. In 1791 I was twenty-four, the owner of an Indigo plantation living just south of New Orleans in Louisiana. After the death of my younger brother I never forgave myself, I longed for death-I would welcome it from anyone...but it was a vampire who accepted. His name was Lestat, and he became the bane of my existence the moment he sired me. We left my plantation when the slaves became suspicious of us, and I set them free and burned the house down. We moved to New Orleans after that, renting a flat.
Lestat insisted that I hunt humans, but I turned to animals instead-I refused to take a human life for years until I found Claudia alone and crying in a small house. Together Lestat and I made her into a vampire, and a child at that, no more than six. The three of us lived together for many years until Claudia decided to kill Lestat. When she tricked him into drinking poison blood from two dead orphan boys and slit his throat we worked together to bury him in the swamp outside of the town-I was reluctant, but yet happy that we were free of him. That is, until he came BACK...the night Claudia and I were to leave for Europe, Lestat came back, and I set him ablaze thanks to a lamp I happened to pick up. Claudia and I left the scene and boarded the boat, watching as half the French Quarter was burned down.
It was only when we reached Paris that we encountered vampires like ourselves: the 400-year-old Armand and his coven, the Théâtre des Vampires. Inhabiting an ancient theater, Armand and his vampire coven disguised themselves as humans and fed on live, terrified humans in mock-plays before a live human audience (who thought the killings were merely a very realistic performance).
Over time I grew very fond of Armand, and I knew he wanted me: I still can't think why...
Claudia thought I would leave her for Armand, and she insisted that I make Madeleine, a Doll-maker, to be her companion. I did, and for a short while the three of us stayed together until the vampire coven came for us and took us to the theatre. Lestat had somehow come to Paris, and told them of Claudia trying to kill him: it is a GREAT crime, they said, to kill your own kind. Frantic I tried to save my daughter, my sanity, but the vampires-namely Santiago-had my locked in a coffin while Claudia and Madeleine were burned to death by the sun. Armand released me, but it was too late. Out of sheer hatred I burned the theatre down, destroying all vampires inside, afterwards Armand saved me from the outside dawn.
I stayed with Armand until I decided to leave for America in the early 20th century. I lived alone, and I still do: feeding on anyone who crosses my path, not making another companion since Claudia and Lestat.
Now presently I live alone...I still wonder about the boy, Daniel Malloy, who interviewed me that night...and I hope Lestat is well.

What I hope to be:
