Yes, it does fall under the category of homeschooling. I was homeschooled myself, but it was in a more "traditional" manner that involved textbooks and worksheets. We did all the usual subjects, but with my own kids I'm just going to follow their interests and I know they'll pick up the "basics" in the process (like toddlers do with walking and talking). My daughter is almost 2-years-old so we aren't doing much right now that feels like school to me, but I'm really excited for when she's older and we can go on awesome fieldtrips and stuff! biggrin

Anyway, unchooling is based on the fact that children are naturally curious and will learn everything they need to know in life without being pushed or taught. In school learning becomes a chore and a child's natural curiousity is harmed as a result. I believe my job as a parent is to help my daughter follow her interests and passions. So, we will never "do school", but we will explore and learn from the world around us. smile Learning never starts or stops! Already my daughter has learned so much without me doing a thing! It amazes me everyday.
