I'm 23 years old. I graduated with my BA in English back in June 2011, and I am hoping to have my MA in English by the end of Winter 2013. I'm currently working on my thesis. My topic is how issues with self-identity effect the characters in
The Great Gatsby. Now, don't assume that just because I'm an English major that I won't make mistakes when posting in the forums. I'm not being graded on any of my posts here, so I don't worry as much about any grammar errors. I will tell you this, though, I hate 'txt tlk.' Seriously, I can't stand it, so if you wish to talk to me please spell out your words.
I love dogs and I love cats, so much so that I hate it when a dog or cat dies in a movie. Do they directors and producers really find it entertaining to kill off the dog or cat? Now, there are some exceptions. If the death of a dog or cat is relevant to the actual story, then it's a little more tolerable to me. Even then, I still have nightmares.
I can't stand racism or discrimination of any sort. What I hate even more is when people try to cover up their prejudice by sugar coating it. I mean, seriously, if you are prejudiced suck it up and own up to it.
I'm half African American and half French Canadian Caucasian. No, I have never had any trouble fitting in. I'm also adopted.
I like a variety of different music. One day I will listen to Lady Gaga, the next day I will listen to Evanescence, the next will be David Bowie, and maybe for the rest of the week I'll listen to Beethoven. It really depends on the mood I'm in.
I'm really into anime, but I'm not a weeabo. I want to learn how to speak Japanese, but I do not run around shouting random Japanese phrases for no reason. I'm also interested in learning about the culture, but I do not make the culture out to be better than the rest.

I do not drink. Shocking, right? No, but seriously, I don't drink. I wouldn't consider myself sXe, because I don't know much about that movement. I just have absolutely no interest in drinking. I've seen the negative effects of alcohol, and I don't ever want that to happen to me. That's it. That's my reason. If you wish to tell me that I'm a prude, or that it's just because I haven't had the right drink you seriously need to ******** off. If you drink, I have no problem with it, but don't think you can convince me to drink when I don't wish to.
I do not have children, nor do I wish to any time soon.
I hate lifted trucks. They look stupid.
Tattoos with no significant meaning annoy me. If you get a tattoo, please for the love of all things good in this world, get something that means something to you. Random tattoos only work for rockstars. If you're unemployed with tattoo sleeves with no significant meaning you look like a douche.
I can't stand people who have 'swagga.' It annoys me byond all reason.
I love vampires, but I do not like
Twilight at all. Lestat can kick Edward's a** any night. The only man that looks manly while sparkling is Jareth the Goblin King.
"Labyrinth" is my favorite movie of all time.
"Pan's Labyrinth," "Howl's Moving Castle," "Little Miss Sunshine," "Spirited Away," "Across the Universe," "Inglorious Basterds," "Rebel Without a Cause," "Rosemary's Baby," "No Country for Old Men," "The Ring," and many animated Disney and Pixar movies are all honorable mentions of mine.
Dangerous Angels by Lia Francesca Block is one of my favorite books in the whole world along with what I've read of Anne Rice's.
