Views subject to change. I know, it's amazing isn't it? I WON'T defend very many things unto the death with evidence and citations and I can have my mind changed! Whee~

History and archaeology are important. More important than whether you feel you need to break that stalagmite off because you just really need 10$. ******** you Dominican Repub. It is unsustainable and you are screwing yourselves over. And ******** you methheads in the Western US. And military strikes that shoot out 2000 year old palaces and amphitheaters.

The environment matters more than the economy; there would be no economy with no environment sillies. More importantly, there wouldn't be any food and water.

Problems cannot be solved with the same mentality that created them: means to me: You can't fix global issues created by technology and 'me and my own' by creating more technology and making it so that it is only available to you and yours. Dumbasses.

Overpopulation is an issue and so is overconsumption, it depends which parts of the world you are looking at. And no, people do not deserve to take over every friggin square inch of the planet, that is 'trying to solve a problem with the same idea that created that problem' issue again.

Everyone on earth deserves food, water, healthcare, clothing, shelter and physical/mental/emotional freedom and to knowledge; only so long as all these things don't unduly infringe on everyone else's rights to the same. Cost shouldn't factor into the survival of people and the environment. It needs to be done, that's all there is to it. Economy (greed) be damned.

I also think our job system is stupid as all hell. I think it would be super, much nicer if jobs were project based. Being hired and the benefits and holidays and such stay the same. However, when there is no need to work from the office that is an hour away, there is no need. Work from home. Be assigned a goal, a task, and do it. Instead of wasting 8 hours of your day eating s**t and pretending to work; just do your actual job. Once that is done, you're free for the day, or week or whatever, until another assignment comes up. Pay would be the same as it is now, after all, people would be doing the same work + they actually get to live the ONE LIFE THEY HAVE.

******** the commercialization of knowledge. Poor people can't access journals and the latest research without coughing up endless subscription fees or joining a univ for thousands a semester, that is messed up.

In a related vein, I am not a huge fan of citations either. Most of what I know I know because I've read some book or article, or heard it on tv, or the radio or /gasp! because I live in a society with people around me and I have eyes, ears and a brain!! Whoa. I don't keep note of who said what because I don't care WHO said, just WHAT was said. Also, just because an idea was previously thought up, does not in any way discredit the fact that people can come with the same idea twice, without ever having heard of the first instance of the idea. It does happen, and in such cases, citations are bullshit. I don't like giving credit where credit IS NOT due.

I'm afraid that I simply don't agree with your view that industrialism makes everything "the same". Europe is mostly industrialized, but we sure as hell aren't the same.
