Not at all. Rape culture isn't about blaming one gender over the other. It's about the structure of society and the lingering stereotypes about women and men that foster rape culture to continue. I'm guessing you were under the misconception that the crazy feminists blame rape culture on the evil men? xp It's a harmful stereotype and causes people to not fully understand the depth of what still allows rape to continue.

Thanks for understanding. I posted an article btw in that forum in reply to you; you can read it and see what you think. Apparently, legislation does dictate that having sex with someone who is intoxicated is considered rape.

Rape culture no doubt exists in many many other countries. The way I see it in the US is that there is a rape co-culture that allows many rape myths to persist and makes it difficult for victims (women AND men) to report their rapes and feel safe about it. It's an estimated 13 out of 15 attackers never spend a day in jail. That's why I feel there may be some aspects of rape culture in the US.

I want to apologize, because you were right in our debate yesterday. I was thinking about it and sort of realized it after a little while >_< I hope you can forgive me, I'm very passionate about sexual abuse and rape and raising awareness of it. But a true feminist can admit when he/she is wrong. I have seen quite a bit of evidence for rape culture however, and it's supported by most academics, just so you're aware, it's not some sort of "crazy feminist" belief that the media makes it out to be. sweatdrop But again, I apologize.

And now in school they won't let me teach Marat's speeches because in the 14th Call one of his platforms is that we should abolish the military and use the granaries to feed the poor. Like that's such a bad idea. D<
