Have no worries, Eden. It is not your blood that fuels my rage.

Nodding in agreement and watching her lips move, Doyle paid to every word spoken by his mentor, as they were all crucial to him.
"I will do as you suggest, and have no fear my lady, I do not wish to share this power with anyone." At this, he bowed his head humbly.
Inside however, part of the massive collective which was his vampire mind began spinning as to reasons she would ban this one act.
Did she fear that he could worship another more than her, or was it that the process of turning somehow drained you, and she wanted to keep him strong.
Her behavior, though slightly abrasive, wasn't the kind of evil he associated with creatures of the night.
As a human, he had hated vampires, but only because they were monsters. Now that he had become one, he found his definition of the word had changed.
He and his new breed fed just as any species did, to survive. What was it that made them monsters?
By the same logic, mortals were thought of as monsters by chickens, cows, pigs, fish, birds and a slew of animals.
It was a matter of perspective, and on this side of the line, O'Reilly had an inkling to ravish the world with loving destruction.
"I'll be in the battledome if you need me my Lady. I wish to teach the children that though the world changes, some things stay the same."

"Actually, m'lady, I had the most vivid of dreams. It involved a rifle and a wolf, and in the end, I turned out to be a squirrel."
Taking the crow firmly in his hand, Doyle listened and responded politely to his new mentor, "I could use a bite before then."
The feathered creature squirmed in his grasp, but Doyle found he enjoyed how it struggled for the life that it had already lost.
In one swift motion, O'Reilly swiped the bird across the edge of a counter, disconnecting the head from the body instantly.
This biological event was so swift in fact, that Doyle had brought the winged form to his lips before it began spurting.
Each drop filled the back of his throat, tasting better than a steak, the essence of eternity, though a too salty and tough.
Once he had squeezed the black bird of every drop, he picked it up, with the head, and tossed them both into the trash.
Turning to Eden, Doyle asks, "What next?"

Waking up to complete darkness should have been terrifying, but instead, it felt like the first morning of his life. A dawning of change.
His muscles all felt tight beneath his skin, without flexing, as though he were on a permanent work-out high, ready to spring into action even when relaxed.
O'Reilly also found that he could hear, smell and see things that he normally couldn't, and that he had to control himself from moving abnormally fast.
His body reacted to his thoughts before he could conceive them, and he knew more about everything, saw everything clearer than he ever had.
In essence, he felt like the best version of himself he could ever possibly be, and thoughts of redeeming his soul never crossed his mind.
This was new too. The guilt he had been burdened with for so long was gone. The men who's lives he had taken, now seemed like tributes attaining his power.
His was proud in fact, that he had been a killer before being turned into one, and he quickly sought clothes, then the door as he left his bedroom.
Down the hall, towards a familiar scent. You will find me. It was the smell of passion, rebirth, carnage and desire; her scent, the lady in the shadows.

The copper taste was mostly disguised by how cold the blood was as it was drained from her icy veins, but Doyle wasn't aware of either matter.
As he quenched a thirst of need so deep it seemed to complete his soul, O'Reilly relished in the smell of the goddess who was blessing him with the nourishment.
Her scent filled him, aroused him, and he wanted her closer to him than physically possible, and just when he was about to chase after her, Eden slapped him.
"That's enough!" She scolded him, grabbing her neck with a moist towelette, and then crossing to where he had landed and kicking him in the face.
His blood stained lips smiled through the pain however, and his eyes glistened with ecstasy, rolling into the back of his head as he slipped into the realm of dreams.

"I am here because I want to be, because you make me happy." Flashing a smile, Doyle found this to be true, but it was more.
All his life, the only thing Doyle found peace in was conflict and anger, but around Eden, a new calm and tranquility was established.
If he was honest with himself, since his news, and his new lifestyle, he had hoped to have something of this nature occur.
An unnatural cure to his mortal weaknesses, and now he had what he had always wished for... but it wasn't. No. He had wished for children some day.
He prided himself on being human.
No. On being strong. On being the best which was what he had been granted without the hard work of training.
No. The sweat, blood and scars are a part of human history. But you are no longer human. No. You are better; stronger, faster, the ultimate predator.

Straining his eyes closed, and pinching the bridge of his nose, O'Reilly tried to fight the voices in his head but it only cause extreme dizziness and nausea.
"I, would like to sit down." Before he collapsed a chair has miraculously appeared beneath him, and he sunk into the plush cushion like it was a dream.
"Why are you so," a large yawn interrupts as his eyes get narrow
",interested in the Exorcist? I mean," handing Eden his vampire hunting tools, "I'm so much cooler."

Despite the huge warning signs flaring up in every fiber of his body, O'Reilly had to see her again.
Calling out to the elusive and dangerously beautiful Eden, Doyle sought to find the shadow in the night.
"Uh.. Hello?" A foot steps forward, his ears primed and alert, "Uhm.. yeah, Anyone here?"
Silence. "I wanted to talk to you. I mean you no harm. I just.." his mind flashed briefly to the exorcist.
It was a sickness, an itch. O'Reilly knew the right path, but it felt too good to cut loose and scratch.
The vampire was the plague that craved full attention, and despite a tinge of guilt, Doyle continued searching for the ultimate relief.
