I love dragons and lizards. I love to read books, especially Anne McCaffrey, Dragon Lance, and Terry Goodkind; and most other fantasy books. Harry Potter is great. I'm a pack-rat and collect just about anything. I love my family, and miss my mother and father more than words can tell. I am female, single, and love to travel. I have a leopard gecko that is blind in one eye, but still beautiful. I am also a Grange Master, and TOPS member.

You too, hon. Have fun in the real world. =) I'm with ya on the sick of it but I've got some sort of "free junk" related chemical imbalance that keeps me here.

Eheh... sweatdrop I'd make you all twitchy. Kinda notorious for reading series' out of order. Granted it's not that I set out to do so...I just used to end up with a lot of secondhand books. First 2 or 3 of a series would be missing but I wouldn't really know till I got into whichever one was on top of the pile. The NW ones are hard to find (well, some of them) so my neighbor and I have basically been collecting them as we stumble across them. Initially we were sharing them back and forth so whatever he found first I'd read next and vice-versa. But those aren't...well, you don't have to read them in order to stay abreast of the stories. I mean for goodness' sake he started writing them in '39 and continued all the way up into the '80s. For the most part he was very careful about direct references to the times. But I'm not sure why I shared that. ^_^

Ah 90's Marvel. Scratchy ink, scary musculature and pouches! WOO! *huggles mine*

YeaYz! I will get around to friend req at some point. We've talked enough...why stop being social now. ^_^

Haha, awesome. OOTD I'll have to dig my copy out again but my to-read stack is 2x my height right now and a lot of those are books I was loaned against my will and probably should return before I do much else. XD Plus I'm still collecting Rex Stout Nero Wolfe novels and will read those in order once I have them all. Got about half so far.

A few dragon things around here, more Marvel comics stuff though. (Huge Marvel nerd!!) My husband's a bigger dragon collector than I am now though I used to have the market. I think I probably lost my title when I bought him a signed Ciruelo print. (I still got unicorns out the wazz though.) The big black dragon on the mountain. I think it was the cover of Cormyr. (Reminds me...OOTD I need to take another shot at my dragon sculpt. The first one was awful.)

You will absolutely have to send me the title once it's out. Don't forget or I will be sad. =)

Phases are fun. heart

Curse all my surviving read books being in boxes right now...I know I've got at least a couple non-McCaffrey dragon books in the trove but the only one that comes to mind is the anthology Dragon Fantastic. YeaY short stories. It's like literary junk food but in the best possible way.

Should be right up my alley. Some part of me will always be 11 and rabid for unicorns. XD But eh, sometimes life gets in the way.

Egad, I've been reading King since I was 10. I've probably more than made up for at least a dozen non-King fans. =) Dragonlance was fairly awesome for the first 6 books and the two Tales books (or first two) after that I lost interest. SoT didn't appeal to me though. I read my way all the way through but at the end I was all...meh...NEXT! Brooks's Shannara books are pretty much the same. Well, no...I actually came to hate those except Druid. I liked that one but don't ask me why. I do not remember. In any case as I've read most of Jordan's Wheel of Time I have a very different view of "goes on forever" than I used to. I think I'm like 3 behind on that one now. But probably my favorite fantasy/sci-fi-fantasy books are Simon Hawke's The Reluctant Sorcerer, The Inadequate Adept, and The Ambivalent Magician. Freaking hysterical. But where else are you going to find a character like Prince Brian the werechamberpot?
Faranath Report | 04/21/2012 5:57 am
I had a few but they either got lost in various moves (doubtful, I'm rigid in my obsessive packing techniques) or walked out with one roommate or another. But that's awesome she wrote you. heart You'll carry that your whole life. Always meant to read Acorna but have never gotten it or to it. Sadly I don't think I've read anything after The White Dragon. Of hers, rather. XD

The coolest author-related thing I've got going on is a signed copy of The Last Unicorn but that's a long story. And my top favorite author is King but I have to have favorites by genre (sometimes as precise as subject) or I'd explode.

Agreed. It's also nice to not only find another reader but a reader who is all squishy and vulnerable about things like that. whee heart
Faranath Report | 04/19/2012 5:33 am
That's an excellent "happy place." Hysterical, Ruth is my favorite too. heart And I am completely with you on the fire lizard thing.
Faranath Report | 04/18/2012 6:03 am
Yes, there was definitely some influence there. (Along with Meredith Ann Pierce's Darkangel books but those are more obscure.) I created the character this avatar was named after ...egad...I think I was a high school sophomore which would've followed my finishing the books (that were then published) by no more than a year. So like a million years ago. whee In any case they made quite an impression. Nice catch.

Awesome! I'll be going this fall to take the pre-veterinary meds transfer course. Then it's off to OSU to finish the program and on my way to being a full veterinarian ^_^

I am a golden dragon, changed to my human form at the moment. I am quite a pack-rat and my cave is full of just about anything. I love my very distant relatives, that which are called 'lizards'. I love to travel and can be found flying over many countries, if you look close enough.

Welcome to may world. It is very fascinating!
