My name is Jennifer. I'm 27 and I'm currently slowly pulling myself through a community college program. I'm trying to get a Degree in Graphic Design. Although I'm also jobless at the moment, I'm looking.
I've been here a long time and sometimes don't remember things well unless I go looking for them. I always stay in the Million Page Thread
in Chatterbox nowadays. I was an avid zOMG player when I wasn't in the MPT but with the game gone I'm don't wander around Gaia much anymore. I actually find the majority of the site too boring, laggy, or broken for my tastes.
Being artistic, I'm pretty fond of anything going on in the art world. I've been drawing since I was a little girl, and took up a love for Photoshop in high school. I hope to meld my interests in traditional and digital together someday, albeit I don't have the money to do so at this time.
As for movie interests, I grew up during the Disney Renaissance, so I love a lot of the animated Disney movies that came out during the late 80's-early 90's, with my absolute favorites being Aladdin and Hunchback of Notre Dame. I'm also a Don Bluth fan, so I have movies like American Tail, Land Before Time, and the one movie I hold very dear to my heart, All Dogs Go To Heaven. In that same vein, I'm also a fan of We're Back, since I loved dinosaurs growing up. I was very much a tomboy. I've also got a large DVD collection that I will watch occasionally, with far too many to list here, albeit most of them are animated movies or 80's cartoon box sets.
Anime-wise, I'm a huge D.Gray-Man & Rurouni Kenshin fan. I like old-school Pokemon, Digimon Seasons 1 & 2, Samurai Deeper Kyo, Elven Lied, and Soul Eater. My interest in anime has waned severely in recent years, but if you can recommend a new one to me, I'd be willing to hear you out.
I don't watch much TV, but I enjoy some of the crime shows that are out now. I tend to watch the public broadcasting channels quite a bit, with Nova and Nature being my favorite shows. I also watch the news sometimes...
I am a huge bookworm. I was taught to read at a very early age, and I've always been good at English and spelling. My favorite genres are fantasy, dystopian, and sci-fi, with some of my favorite series being The Inheritance Cycle, The Graceling Saga, The Hunger Games, Narnia, The Howl's Moving Castle series, The Dragon Chronicles, and the Uglies. Outside of long sagas, I enjoy dragon books, or books that give a fantasy twist to slice of life stories. I have never read Anne McCaffrey or Anne Rice, sorry. I tend to gravitate towards more modern books. I'm also a big magazine reader, although I only have a Reader's Digest subscription atm.
I do sometimes play video games. My absolute favorite series of all time is the Legend of Zelda. Mention Zelda and I will more than likely geek out on you. My favorite games are Twilight Princess, Majora's Mask and Link Between Worlds. Because of my talents, I'm also a fan of the 5th Cell games Drawn To Life and Scribblenauts. I'm not very good at Mario, fighting, or racing games, but I have a soft spot for Super Mario World and I adore Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart. I've played Pokemon as well, but most of the stuff past Gen 2 ticks me off for one reason or another.
My music interests are limited. I'm a huge electronic & 80's fan. I like some Vocaloid. I like some older popular artists, but I don't listen to them much. I also am a country music fan because I grew up on it, and it doesn't bother me. I won't post one of those on my profile though.
Honestly, this is not something I like to discuss on Gaia. My views are much more traditional and I tend to be the odd one out oftentimes. I will say though if you are kind to me, I will be kind to you.
I have scoliosis, so I have trouble standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy objects. I have a terrible phobia of needles and stingers that I have yet to shake. I'm not much of a socializer & I also have undiagnosed ADD (which I treat with a supplement) so don't be too surprised if I seem distracted or bored at times.
Oh, look you made it down here. Thank you for reading~! My comments and Private Messages are almost always open, so please feel free to say something to me. I'll do my best to give you a reply in one form or another.
