History:

The early days of his life were both picturesque and uninteresting. Born to a conventionally "normal" family, in a peaceful countryside, Draco's childhood played out as many do. Great parents, many good friends, and promises of a tried-and-true future on the horizon. Although his parents were very protective, shuddering in fear of even the smallest injuries on their precious baby, Draco quickly developed great interest in combat. Nevertheless, Draco was a very weak boy when it came to battle, constantly losing in play fighting matches with all of his friends. He would always persist, however, insisting that he would eventually become "stronger than anyone."

All of this came to a head when Draco made the acquaintanceship of a young lady, about his age, named Liana. Though the details of their initial meeting were sketchy, Draco found in her both an unending source of inspiration and a seemingly pre-destined rival - though he never bought into the concept of destiny. Whereas Draco lacked the most basic of coordination and balance, Liana had been training in the ways of the sword for the majority of her life. This was the final push that Draco needed to begin down the path of a swordsman. For years, Liana trained Draco, teaching him everything he knew. While Draco greatly appreciated all that she did for him, he could not help but feel resentful of the gap between their abilities. While he continued to grow more cocky in his power, he very scarcely managed to best Liana in any duels - and on those rare occasions where he would win, he knew in his heart that it was only out of pity.

The day eventually came when the two would need to go their separate ways. Duty called for Liana and she made it very clear that she could not ignore this call. For reasons unbeknownst to Draco, she needed to travel north, just a few days after Draco's twentieth birthday. It was on their final day together that she gave Draco the most important gift he had ever received in his life: her sword, Hope's End. The gleaming red-sheathed sword, still as sharp as the day when Draco first laid his eyes on it, became Draco's most important possession. The reminder of both their friendship and their rivalry. For the first time in his life, Draco shed tears as Liana walked away. It was then when he made a personal vow to not only surpass her, but all other swordsmen he would come across.

Draco eventually took up a role as a Hunter, both of bounties and game. He found a sense of purpose in hunting ferocious beasts, dragons, and all sorts of creatures, but he has never forgotten his vow.
