Same old, same old, huh? But it still sounds like you're having fun. Getting to travel = <3 I'm glad to hear you're doing well, and that you're busy with an awesome girlfriend. xD How did you two meet (if you don't mind me asking)?

I've been doing well enough, had a few ups and downs, but things are stabilizing right now and I'm doing better. My last day of work at this current job is Friday of this week (yay) and then I'll be going on a camping roadtrip with my brother and a couple of friends for about a week. After that I'll have about three months of no work, during which time I'll be focusing a lot on writing and researching a few new job offers (more traveling haha -- by January of next year I should have a decision made and be considered a professional within the forensics field).

And my ankle is doing great, thanks for asking. xD Yoga helped speed up its rehabilitation. Still into horror films?

You're welcome ~ o: I'm honestly surprised to see you back (for now lololol), thought you'd left for good. What have you been up to?

You don't need to apologize, lol. I know you've got stuff going on in real life and this site is hardly priority. xD Myself, I rarely reply to comments and PMs right away since I'm normally not on long enough to. Life is busy for both of us, it seems. </3 Did you have fun on Eve night? Any plans for the New Year? And do you have a New Year's resolution?

Yeah, I know what you mean about all of the gift buying. Hit me especially hard this year. I tend to buy gifts throughout the year, take advantage of sales and liquidations and just hide gifts away for months, but money has been so tight this year that I wasn't really able to do that as much, so I focused only on family and just my closest friends this year (only around 4 people that I consider myself very close to). I really need to learn how to knit or crochet. That way I can just make gifts. Got my brother an old classic Nintendo with a bunch of NES games for Christmas (took forever for me to find a good deal on one). He hasn't stopped playing it. Even as I type this I can hear Mario's dying music every 30 seconds or so (I don't understand how he can be so good at playing XBOX games and so bad at playing classic Mario Bros.). xD

I don't look for gifts either, lol. It's definitely a lot more fun to give than receive, especially when you can get a lot of laughs out of how you give your gifts. One of my brother's friend's dads gave all of his kids boxes of coal made out of black chewing gum this year. Probably about 10 big pieces of coal in every box. He did not say a single word, not a clue, but it turned out he had money hidden in each coal. Everyone threw their coal away until my friend tore one of his coals open and discovered a $100 bill. The dad apparently got a huge laugh watching everyone digging through the garbage to get their coal back. xD

Yeah, I'm in the middle of Winter's Break right now, last day of classes for this semester was something like Dec. 15. I did better than expected even though I haven't applied myself nearly as much as I normally do. I'm filling up all my free time with lots of overtime at work, though. Next semester will probably be my last semester, so I'm working to stack away as much money as possible until I can guarantee myself a job after graduation.

I haven't had any zombie dreams since the last one, lol. But I have been remembering a lot more of my dreams lately and they all kind of had an 80-ish feel to them. Like, for example, the dream that I had last night involved me, my brother and a couple of friends. For some reason we ended up trespassing into this non-existent country where ninjas and werewolves coexisted, but only so they could take over the world. Their leader was a madam who looked like a cross between a geisha and Elvira (I suspect you know who she is, but just in case, here). She caught us and they were going to kill us, but for some reason the madam decided to give us a chance to save our lives: I had to enter a Nintendo gaming tournament (I blame my brother for this) and win against all of her champions. The other thing is I had to wear a uniform, and the uniforms all consisted of either wearing those things that look like bras but aren't (can't remember what they're called) or going topless. So of course I opted to wear the bra thing, only all of their bra-things were too small for me, so... you can imagine the rest.

My ankle is doing much better, thank you. <3 I don't have to wear the boot anymore, but I'm still not able to do any high impact exercises, so I'm focusing on weights, yoga and pilates. And it turned out I had torn some ligaments, lol. It just took a while for the bruising to finally show itself (normally only takes a few days at most, but in my case it took just a little over a week). The worst of it were the cracks, though, and they healed up very nice, and the ligaments are nice and mended (just really tight at this

Congratulations on your win! And that's so awesome that Arrow Films were flexible with you.

Yeah, my parasitology professor is a really, really nice guy, but he's definitely on the boring side as a lecturer. xD He's kind of old-school, too, which I suppose is a good thing in some ways. I don't think I'm gonna get to visit that body farm. They've got it pretty locked down and it's getting to the end of the semester, so it's not likely to happen; however, I'm looking to get an internship with the forensics department of this big police precinct, so I may get a chance yet. Mummifying Alan, huh? Sounds very interesting, I wonder if I can find it floating around on the internet later.

lol, yeah, I had the zombie dream a couple of nights in a row. xD I didn't wake up feeling disoriented or anything, though, that only happens whenever I have a lucid dream, which is extremely rare. In fact, I think the last time I had a lucid dream might have been a couple of years ago. In my zombie dream I was constantly afraid, but no, it didn't leave me feeling hopeless. It was one of those things where I was constantly having to look over my shoulder, but there was a way out and I just had to wait for daylight. For some reason the zombies and swamp and maze and so forth would disappear in the morning, after the sunrise. Have you had your own zombie dream a lot? It's terrible to have a hopeless feeling. My nightmares aren't usually that bad. In fact they are often very ridiculous. One time I dreamed that there was a monster living in my washing machine, and no one would believe me that it was in there. And it looked like a muppet, but it would actually kill people. Which reminds me, have you ever heard of The Puppet Monster Massacre? I saw the DVD in a store the other day and immediately thought of you. xD

I sprained my ankle last night, btw. I have a couple of hairline fractures in my ankle, too, but amazingly it doesn't look like I've torn any ligaments. I still have to wear a boot and use crutches to move around, though. Right now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get to and from class. D: Lots of stairs, and lots of distance. I hurt my ankle by tripping into a hole that is on the property around here, I'll be calling my apartment management in the morning to get that fixed so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. 3:< Couldn't have happened at a worse time, I have a field project that I need to finish and I don't know how I'm going to be able to get around to my sites well enough to complete my measurements. Dx

Sorry to vent there, a little stressed right now. I'll be fine in the morning, I think, just angry at my predicament. ^^;

So did you ever get around to finishing Deep Red and Tenebrae? xD And how did that FB contest go? I told a few friends to like your submission, but I don't know if they remembered to do it.

Yeah, I signed up for parasitology because I still need one more biology course and I figured it would be interesting and useful information. So far I've nearly fallen asleep in class about 10 times now. ^^; My lab partner, on the other hand, is just eating it all up. He's an ecology grad student, though: lots of patience for the really meticulous. What I find boring he finds absolutely fascinating. I'm so jealous of him. Like really. Life would be so much easier if I could concentrate the way he can. Maybe it's not so much the information that I have a problem with, though, as it is the way it's packaged. The parasitology professor is kind of a droner.

I've watched the old Thing movie when I was a kid, and I remember pretty much nothing about it. xD I'm tempted to watch the newest movie, but I'm not sure if I'll have the time before it leaves theaters. So tired. Only half-way through the semester and I'm already feeling burnt out. I've been hit with a really bad case of senioritis.

There have been talks in my ecology class about making a field trip to the body farm, btw. Wouldn't surprise me if our lab professor manages to pull some strings. *crosses fingers*

Honestly with Super Jail, I think what happened is either they weren't able to get back the original writers (couldn't say, haven't looked it up, but in the past whenever I've noticed a sudden drop in quality, this is often the case), or the writers are now trying too hard to continue selling the idea. Or maybe they're being forced to pump out more material in less time. You do what you do differently when you don't really believe it's going to go anywhere. Things change when people are suddenly tossing high expectations their way. Some people are better able to adjust to that kind of change than others. I expect it to get better as they get more settled, though. We'll see if it ever stabilizes into its former glory.

I'm sorry if nothing above makes any sense. I'm not in my right sense of mind at the moment and I'm too tired to go back and proof-read. xD

Any movie recommendations, btw? I know you've been thinking about it. <3

I had a stress dream the other day where I was trapped in the girls' locker rooms of my old high school. With a bunch of zombies, no less. The locker room was huge, though, and flooded with swamp water, and the locker walls were part of this labyrinth. I basically hid in lockers and leapt around on top of the maze walls to avoid the zombies. xD

No apologies for late replies, I'm just as guilty as you are (current reply no exception). xD We both got things going on. In this case I actually would have replied sooner.... but I thought I already had. So. Either my brain imagined that I had replied, or I did and forgot to submit again.

Did you ever get around to watching Deep Red and Tenebrae like you'd planned, or did life keep you too busy? I'm taking a Parasitology course right now and one of my lab buddies seems to have the same love for horror films as you do. He's actually excited about watching The Thing which he says probably won't do the original two any justice (in my mind, I was thinking, "What other two?" wink , but he really wants to see how the movie buffs either pulled it off or botched it up. xD

Yeah, I think it's strange that Mauritius doesn't have a system set in place for situations like the one that your friend's girlfriend is in. I find it ridiculous that someone can live on someone else's property for so long without paying any rent, and you can do nothing as the legal owner to get them out... short of violence, which has its own complications. Just ridiculous. I hope everything works out for them. Does she plan to sell the property after this? Honestly after this nightmare, I probably would myself.

No, I haven't really looked too in depth into getting a look at the body farm, I've been so busy with work and school. I'm having a hard time just trying to find time during the daylight hours to conduct my semester's science projects (meticulous measurements and data collection for statistical studies that I just don't care about). It's a sad state of affairs that my need to do things which I don't find particularly important but are required nonetheless is keeping me from doing things which I find very interesting and could/are relevant to my long-term career goals. I'll get my look in, though. I'm determined. Meanwhile, I'll have to be satisfied with picking through rotting animal remains.

I'm super glad that you liked Super Jail. They've started a new season, actually, and you're right, it doesn't match up to the first season. It just lacks the same quality... but I still like it. It's getting better with each new episode, but they still don't live up to the first season's potential. They do, however, give a little more insight into the characters' backgrounds, in particular the twins. They're a little more directly involved (which is one of the developments I don't like about the newest season). They've maintained the tradition of Jacknife somehow escaping each episode, but it doesn't always happen at the end like it does in the first season. It's become a game by a lot of the Super Jail fans here to spot when and where Jack's escaped (because it's not too conspicious anymore -- if you're not really paying attn, you'll miss it).
