Hello everyone! Well, the other day I was writing an paper about gay marriage. So I thought, why not get Gaia members more aware of it? I will dedicate my profile and siggy for gay rights, and place everyone's thoughts on here.

But here is a few facts about me...

1: I support gay rights. (Marriage , adoption, ect.)

2: I am straight.

3: I am along the mainstream idea of being gay is not a choice, but something you are born with. But I realize there are those who do choose.

4: I don't think waving your bible about is going to change anyones minds. Freedom of religion and freedom from religion should be enough to allow gay marriage.

5: I live in America.
(I know, I know....)

Okay, now lets get on with it. The 'paper' that I spoke about can be read in my journal. The title is "Stop!"

Anyone that has any thoughts and ideas, PM me. If I think it was a good enough PM and not along the lines of: 'u suck, g0 2 h3ll!' or 'OMG, i luff teh gay' Then I will post the letter HERE. I will allow both the AGAINST and the FOR.

And please, PM me. Don't just spam my profile or attack me while I'm in a RP.

Gay people don't just like other gay men(women). It doesn't always happen. Just because you're gay doesn't mean you automatically will get together with the nearest guy(girl) who happens to be gay.
And another thing. Being against adoption. Think about it, would you rather a child was:

A) Left with possible drunk/abusive/financially or otherwise unable to care for their child.

B) Left in an orphanage/home until they are 16/18

or C) Taken into a loving home with people who will love them as their own - who just happen to be in a same-sex relationship.

Personally, I go with C.

It IS between a man and woman, but it would be fine to come up with another term like "eternally united" instead of married. The straight extremists, like the KKK have most likely been doing things as well, although I'm not quite as informed on that matter. I know real murders have been committed for sexual orientation as well, of which i dont approve in the least. The gays have their own prejudices to deal with, just as white people, for example, constantly have to deal with the infamous "black card" Its becoming more and more "hip" to become gay as well. I know people who have pretended to be gay to get close to girls for a period of 8 months. So, I am torn. The gays are annoying and awkward. The straights are ignorant and conforming at the same time.

i believe homosexuals have every right to be together and claim the rights of a married couple under civil union but in my eyes marriage is considered a sacrament and i dont feel its really appropriate...
