AboutSo, I haven't updated my "'Bout Me" in four years? Teim for an update!! 3nodding
Doctor Robert exists in many places, it seems. He appeared on Gaia many years ago and took up residence at Durem, a town full of old-fashioned 90's goths and steampunks. The Doc was something of a steampunk himself, but mostly didn't know what he was and that was fine by him in those days (still is, legend has it). He set up a Secret Lab, as he often did in many places, and set up shop tinkering away at a cloning facility so he could earn some stylish clothing and build up a collection of legendary weapons. He had a group of colleagues who would visit from his original universe from time-to-time and he enlisted the help of a menagerie of assistants, first an Air Fluff named Fluffy, then a clone of Timmy, before finally settling on a cynical Gwee named... Gwee.
He fought early in the zOMG! Wars but the mob rule of the Guilds of Barton turned him off, forcing him to retire his commission. Not that he got far in the army... Fortunately, about a year later, a crisis in a distant part of Gaia turned into an opportunity for the Doctor to leave his mundane life in Durem for a spell. He bought an airship, the UES Mjolnir, and took it valiantly out into the woods, battling vampires and entertaining then-Proconsul Diedrich, Doctor-Professor Edmund of GaiaForce, Louie von Helson, Sam the wizard of Engineering, and Carl the Majestic on his ship. He was appointed Lord-Admiral-of-the-Fleet and became known affectionately as Der Aerkapitan.
His breakthroughs during the Ghost-Crisis of 2010 were of some note and he gained an ally in the ghost of a young boy named Chauncey. He worked quietly in his Lab thereafter, only occasionally leading expeditions into uncharted Gaia with his ship, Mjolnir. He departed Gaia sometime in 2011 for another universe. Some say it was simply so he could go find a better ship (and he found one, by the way, and it's a rad starship indeed), others say it was because the Gaia crowd was starting to show their age with their 2003 sensibilities long after that decade ended, still others say he was fed-up and fascinated by the astoundingly slow rate things were happening on Gaia and left to make a space-time survey.
Fanatics will tell you he could see the fires of inflation in the future and got out before his fortune was worthless...
Whatever the reason, Doc Robert is a hard man to find these days. He comes back, in his freshly refurbished Hades-Class Destroyer GTD Stardust, on occasion to survey the state of things. He's come to the conclusion that Gaia is doomed, the world is deteriorating whist displaying massive contradictions; children don't grow up here and yet decades have passed on one hand, inflation, lack of cool people, and the sun getting dimmer on the other. He visits from time-to-time but his pinky is always on the inter-dimensional-rift generator button on the bridge of the Stardust, just in case Gaia does implode on itself whist he's here.
The semi-true story of Doctor Robert. Now you know!! mrgreen
