Hey, sweet friend, happy to be your herald! It's GOOD! I was really surprised because I wasn't sure how it was going to pull it off, but DAMN, he does! Go, enjoy! Maybe we can discuss it after you've read it. I'd like that.
How are you doing? Things going well? I'm through with this semester's crits and finals as of Thursday. Then six glorious weeks of off. Sleep, gaming, visiting with people I hardly see anymore. Good times. And then my final semester. Kind of scary, that. But exciting, too. Just hope I can find a job.
Good to hear about the job. I suppose I'll be looking for one come next summer. It looks like I'll be able to manage to graduate. I wasn't sure if I would be able to get all the credits this school year.
Having an interesting time with the new game. The GM is inclined to let us make our own decisions so it's kind of like those choose-your-own-path books from when I was a kid. This is his own world and he has it very well developed, or at least, the main story line is developed. He keeps presenting us with lots of options and we are still getting use to that idea. He's also got an on-line gaming site where he posts all the information we have developed to date. It's really intriguing. Very interactive and he's delighted that he's finally got a group that uses it. He's also be letting us develop the world with him. He's encouraging of us writing up backstories and NPCs and locations for him to add into the world. I'm really glad I let Julian talk me into joining this group.
Have a happy Halloween!

It's been months since we talked! How is everything going? I hope the job worked out and all those non-essentials (rent, food, gas money) are taken care of. Are you getting any gaming in? I started a new game, with a group of strangers through the local gaming shop. We were all tired of playing with the same old people over and over and our new DM was tired of the same old reoutine, too. So we showed up at the "don't bring a friend to game" game and ended up having a whole new bunch of ideas and fun with none of the knowing what the other player's characters might do. I'm glad I did it! I'm doing a cleric this time. Never played a cleric before.
Let me know what you're up to these days. I try to check in every day, but ... senior year and ALL the art classes. Kind of tough.

Sorry to hear that the job situation is so difficult. And you probably got a degree in something useful. When I get out in a year (hopefully), I'll have a BFA. The 'rents are looking for a kiln and wheel of my own and are planning on building me a little studio of my own at the back of their yard, but I'm not sure how I'll fare as a free-lance artist. Luckily Julian has a really good job, but we'll just be starting out and we both have good old tuition debt. I still have about twelve classes until I finish school. I was hoping to get some of them out of the way this summer so that I didn't have to load up on classes to graduate next spring, but my sculpture class got cancelled and the ones I *am* taking don't have studios. Which means I'm either going to be killing myself taking five art classes with studios a semester, or I'm going to have to go an extra semester. More expense. Not the best times to be an artist.
I hope things start working out for you. Something worthwhile comes up for you. <smile> It'd be nice if an employer saw your resume and just knew you were the One. I hope the other aspects of your life are good. Sometimes that helps life not suck too much. That and being positive. And gaming. Gaming lets you work out the need to ... work out the frustration. Good luck! I believe in you!
Hugs, Lily
