I'm a stay at home mom and navy wife but that is in no way all that there is to me. I love science, I can make lots of things with my hands, I'm a decent cook and I have a weakness for lame jokes and idiotic memes. I love literature and movies and I'm an amateur entomologist!
Yeah, I like bugs...
~~~From the mind of a somewhat disappointed me a few months ago~~~~~~~
In recent years I have noticed how Gaia is slowly, but surely, crawling towards being a 'pay-to-play' website. While I commend it for having grown so much in such a short period of time, I find myself disagreeing with the way some of the staff handle things and how users are treated less like members and more like a source of income.
I get it, you need money to run the website, but don't try to fool kids into giving you their money and then refuse to listen to what they have to say. While some of us are adults with incomes and can spend a certain amount a month on here, most of the users are well, school kids, they are the ones that spread the word about the site and get their friends to join and so on. Gaia, you're basically pissing off your PR team when you introduce features that basically exclude new members or those who cannot spend most of their time on here (I'm looking at you alchemy) and then, to add insult to injury, you have devs posting journals
that are long, articulate '******** yous' to the users.
Well, I've had enough of this. It's been a good 6 years. I met my husband here, I've made some wonderful friends, and I think it's time to move on, before this ship implodes or I'm required to pay a membership fee and actual money for the really cool stuff, that I will never physically own anyway.
Those of you who wish to still be in contact with me, my skype name is ohladark.
