Oops. XDa Sometimes I'm bad at explaining things. khgsbdfgsd It kind of surprises me that people have had bad experiences, given how I've mostly just been met with "What, really?" than anything [granted, I usually was defining it rather than just saying the word, because I didn't know it at the time! XD].. Maybe people didn't believe me, but no one said so or bothered me about it, so it was never an issue. People are gonna believe what they want to believe, so there's no sense in worrying about their opinions. xDa [I think it helped that I was into like Numetal and the mallgoth look, because there's usually misunderstandings with subcultures and s**t, so it's easy to apply that template of behavior to .. really every other instance where some minority group is misunderstood or misrepresented]
Eee~~ I'm glad to hear I could help ya get an understanding of it~ I will say, I've also mixed my sex-repulsed nature in with that first paragraph a bit; the main base line for asexuality is the "have you ever looked at a person and thought "I'd tap that" or not?" Some aces don't mind sex or are willing to do it for their SO's benefit [in the same manner that a guy might go watch a romcom with his girlfriend or a girlfriend might go to a sports game with her boyfriend, despite the fact that they'd never do those things on their own. If the boyfriend never saw another romcom or the girl never went to another sports event, they wouldn't miss it in the least], but for me personally just the thought curls my insides. I don't mind it in a general sense, like if it's in a show - I consider it a thing to overlook. If I end up liking the show [like Game of Thrones], I treat the sex as a con, not a pro [though in the case of GoT, I appreciate that it's there because it brings a sense of reality/gravity to the show; like this isn't the sugar-coated, whitewashed high fantasy you're used to, folks, this is a grim, gritty realistic portrayal of s**t in medieval times], or in humor; so long as it's general, anything goes. So, innuendos are pretty damn funny to me [I love 'that's what she said' moments. fkgsdfg even if I'm the one who derped. hnng there's one I remember well from school that had the whole class laughing, and aaahhh I really can't blame them, I laughed too, even though it was a bit "Oh s**t, I did not think that out at all. oops"].
Oh? So am I the first person you've met who's ace [also, if you don't mind me asking, what's your orientation]? How/when did you end up stumbling upon that article? C:
Yeah, like.. one could be romantic and not sexual, and there are terms for all the different types of people one could be romantically attracted to with the same prefixes as the orientations [biromantic, heteroromantic, homoromantic, etc]. They'd want to do the cuddling, hand-holding, maybe even kissing, but just pass on the sex, plzkthxbai. However, there are also aromantics, who don't have an interest in that stuff, either. I think I might be aromantic, or damn near it, because I've never dated, nor been interested in doing so, and whenever I entertain the idea [which I'm not entirely against as I am with the sex], I imagine more just like a best friend and we have similar interests and hang out, but maybe we share a living space or something.... xDa That's my ideal relationship. I feel very strong love/affection for my friends and family, and I'm a pretty huggy/platonically physical [fist bumps/high fives, taps, pats etc] person, so I'm not like "This senpai will never notice you /icyheart" I throw :heart:s around like candy, just never romantically and definitely not sexually. XD [I do however, rarely actually say "I love you" to anyone besides my pets a

NOOOOOO GODDAMMIT. I had a big a** comment and but I was logged out and it got deleted fughldfkf -sobs-
I'll .. re-write it I guess. -sniffs- ;m;
Naw, I have the mouth of the sailor when I'm really angry, when I'm drunk/tipsy, I'm just goofier. 9 u6
Uuhh, idk, it doesn't feel like anything really? XD As I understand it, when sex isn't done or thought about with procreation in mind [which I'm also not interested in], it's for leisure, which puts it on the same level as any other hobby or interest. So to me, it's the same if someone asks "what's it like to be asexual?" as if they'd asked "what's it like to have no interest in crocheting?" So far, I can't say I've had any real issues regarding how people took it, but I also haven't had much experience given I don't go around mentioning it for the sake of mentioning it, especially since it interests me so little. I was told once that it was sad, like being unable to laugh [to which I replied, it's more like not finding anything funny], but I found it more amusing that he didn't get it than something to get my jimmies rustled over. I think I also had a discussion on here a few years ago with someone who argued against it, but I didn't have as firm an understanding as I do now, plus I suck at debating, so his points made me take a moment to reconsider, a thing I find I do now and again, but what I always end up at is that I've never looked at a person and thought "I'd tap that" and tbh, the thought of myself in a sexual situation makes me shudder.... I don't think if I were straight/gay/bi/pan/poly/whatever that I'd react that way, even if I've never had sex... There are plenty of things I haven't done, that when I think of doing them, I wish they would happen for real; sex has never been one of those things. I don't feel like no one would want me/I'm not worthy and the thought of never having sex doesn't depress me... I'm pretty sure the only way I'd "have sex" is if I was raped, and, well, by definition, that wouldn't be by choice or desire, soooooo. XD!! I don't tend to hang around people who care about the ultimately inconsequential quirks of others, so that probably has something to do with why I've had such an anticlimactic experience. Some of the stories I've read on AVEN are a lot more dramatic than mine, feeling broken and alone, tears of relief upon finding the site and knowing that others are like them... and I'm just over here like "Oh hey, this term describes me accurately." So yeah, most of the "misconceptions" I've seen are secondhand information, so I don't know what's legit, and what's just some social just warrior looking for [Trouble in River City] to champion.
Hehe, The Mars Volta is a band whose lyrics I really love. UuU <333 Some artists you might like; KONGOS, Big Data, Winterfog, The Unicorns, Banks. Cx!!
Ohh Pentatonix are good. C:! I also know SHM from a collab they did with Knife Party [who were in Pendulum, another band I love]. Cx!!
The weirder things I listen to would be like Ay├ža Tekindor, Vitas, and stuff that strains the meaning of the word "music" hahah. xD
Hah, I guess some of the non-ball-based games could be okay to have on, but I wouldn't watch it of my own volition. :P

Hahah, yes, that's another reason! XD!!
Sometimes I like getting my drink on, but I don't do it a whole whole lot. I've tried a few things; I like margaritas, whiskey/vodka and coke/pepsi/dr pepper. I don't like hypnotiq [at least on its own, such a pity, because it's so pretty :C] or absinthe [ugh, it tastes like black licorice -shudder-] though. There's still a lot I haven't tried though. xDa Funny thing, I don't actually like the taste of alcohol, I just like the act of drinking sometimes because luls tipsy. XDa
It's not offensive at all! n.n Yes I am. C:
Ooh cool cool~~ I don't mind religious stuff as much if it's talking about it in an objective, folkloric manner. I'm not religious though, hah! XD I also can't stand politics because it's just professional high school clique-y nonsense, so I can't stand watching or thinking about it too long. I usually end up at the conclusion that overthrowing/abandoning the idea of a government entirely is the best option. XDa And HNNG celebrity gossip is the stupidest thing! Sometimes I accidentally get caught up in reading things about it, but I don't actively seek it out, I just have a bad habit of getting caught up in distractions. XD!
I'm fond of supernatural things~~ I should probs read more of the books I've bought on it, but I am just drawn to metaphysical/paranormal things like ghosts and stuff. I also really love talking about/sharing music! I'm usually listening to pretty [dark]/[heavy] stuff, but I also enjoy a bunch of other stuff as well, so it's fun to hear some of the things that other people are interested in as well! *v*
I don't care for sports. XD ... :Ua And I .. I can't think of anything else [aside from what you already mentioned] that I prefer to avoid. I'm pretty curious, and willing to talk about most things. XDa
