I feel like a celeberity, the feeling of having a good, long, juicy biography. Well, I am almost a hero, since I helped save the world a lot, along with my friends, Buffy, Willow, Giles, and other people.
Alexander Lavelle Harris was born to Anthony and Jessica Harris in Sunnydale, California. According to Xander, his dad once tried to sell him to some Armenians. His mother Jessica, is known to neglect Xander and appear cheerful in front of strangers as an attempt to cover the true nature of his mother's miserable life. Xander's uncle, Rory, is an alcoholic taxidermist. Every Christmas, Xander sleeps outside to avoid his family's drunken arguments. When he was thirteen, Xander attended Willow's bat mitzvah, where his parents drank to excess. Xander's family was said to be unreliable and even abusive, and the main source of his insecurities. Xander's family finally appeared at Xander and Anya's aborted wedding, which turned out to be a mess, because Xander left Anya at the alter, because he was shown the "future of his life" by a "future version of himself" which turned out to be a fake.
Xander briefly dated his best friend Willow Rosenberg, but they broke up over a stolen Barbie when they were five. At his sixth birthday party, which Willow attended, his parents hired a clown who chased him, resulting in his coulrophobia; a fear of clowns. He overcame this phobia eventually when a boy named Billy made everyone's fear become real. When he did not get a toy fire truck for his seventh birthday, the house next door caught fire. Xander saw real fire trucks then and believed he had Willow to thank. Following Jesse's death, Xander became a wisecracking sidekick of the Scooby Gang, often annoying those around him, including Angel a vampire with a human soul, and the more uptight Giles. Xander developed a crush on Buffy, but it is not reciprocated. However, he saved her life by administering CPR after she drowned by the Master who was staked by Buffy.
Xander gradually began a turbulent and ambiguous relationship with Cordelia after they were thrown together in several life-or-death situations. The military knowledge Xander acquired - thanks to a spell ((see the episode "Halloween"))- enables Buffy to defeat the Judge, a supposedly invulnerable demon. When Cordelia was seen with Xander, it cost her position among Sunnydale High's fashionable clique. She dumped him on Valentine's Day. Xander retaliated by coercing Amy Madison who was a witch, to cast a love spell, which misfires, resulting in, until the spell is broken, Xander found himself irresistible to every girl, woman, and female vampire in sight; except Cordelia, who, realized how much Xander cared for her, reunited with him in defiance of her former friends.
Xander revived an interest in Willow, and a kiss that leads to Cordelia's near-fatal injury, as well as Anyanka's arrival in the school. Cordelia labeled Xander "The Zeppo". Therefore, mocked him for being useless compared to his friends, who are Slayers, witches, werewolves, and vampires. In an attempt to prove her wrong, Xander embarkd on an adventure with a group of zombies led by tough guy Jack O'Toole. Xander lost his virginity to Faith Lehane in the process. However, when O'Toole and his friends tried to blow up Sunnydale High, Xander single-handedly placed an end to their plan. Later, he was asked to the Prom by Anya Jenkins, formerly the vengeance demon Anyanka. During Graduation, when the mayor turned into a big snake called "Olvikan", Xander led Sunnydale High's students against Mayor Wilkins and his army of vampires.

After being hit by demon Toth's Ferula Gemini, Xander was split into two separate beings; one displayed his strengths and one displayed his weaknesses. When a troll-god, named Olaf gets free, Xander defended Willow and Anya equally from Anya's ex-boyfriend, Olaf the Troll. Despite the fact he was forced to choose between his girlfriend and his best friend. Shortly before he went into battle with the hell-goddess Glory, Xander asked Anya to marry him.
, Xander begun to have doubts about his future with Anya. When he hoped for a happy ending, he summoned the demon named "Sweet" to turn Sunnydale into a living musical, which goes horribly wrong when people start bursting into flames. Later, Xander's fear of marrying Anya are made worse by a visit from a demon who pretended to be his future self, showing him a bitter future trapped in a marriage similar to his parents'. When Xander and the group of Potential Slayers were on a mission, Xander had his left eye gouged out by an evil preacher named Caleb, and begun wearing an eyepatch. In the final battle against the First Evil, Anya was killed by a Bringer's sword. Her body remained in the new Sunnydale High's ruins when the empty town was swallowed by the earth. Andrew Wells, whom she had fought alongside and sacrificed her life for, comforted Xander by saying that Anya had died saving his life. Xander replied by saying, "That's my girl. Always doing the stupid thing."
