Just a student of life. I'm a college student at the University of Puerto Rico. Majoring in Political Science, with special interest in Political Theory. I'm a believer in democracy and the liberties of man, but I'm also aware that the social constructions that man has undertaken all throughout history have been defined and divided in social classes and the struggles by these. Nonetheless, I think that without these humanity would be better off.
As for religion, I support the views of peace, love and unity that Buddhism teaches and that are present in the essence of Christ's message. On the other hand, I have a really poor opinion about religious institutions since it has been proven historically that these have deeply impeded the growth and progress of the human race. This opinion spans from the fact that religious institutions have done little to better social problems and only adhere to old dogmas that have nothing to do with today's society.
As for the concept itself of God, my opinion is that he has never existed and that there hasn't been any actual proof of the existence of such a being, just as there is no proof or disproof of the existence of Thor, Odin, or Zeus. I think that the concept of an anthropomorphic sentient being that created everything is too vague and too simple for me. On top of that, the world has kept running it's course into a downward spiral to destruction by ourselves, so if God exists (in the anthropomorphic way that everyone thinks) or not doesn't actually matter. If he does, it is clear that he cares little for our existence or behavior, so the question of the existence of such a being is largely academic and not important in any way. In other words, I feel apathy regarding this subject as there is no point on debating it anymore. In short, I consider myself an Agnostic Atheist.
I know that my view on many aspects of life is shared only by a handful, but that is what separates me from the rest and makes me a truly unique human being. I question everything and I always ask why. I refuse to give up my right to think and the use of my reason, not letting anything or anybody do it for me.
Anyways, I'm extremely nice with everybody no matter what creed, religion, or political beliefs. I respect the points of view of everyone so I expect the same in return. XD.
