First off, this profile is still under construction, so I apologize for it being a bit rough around the edges. Secondly, alright I just didn't want to go back and edit what I already wrote and I said first off so i needed something to follow up with.
My name is Sarah, I'm a lesbian, and as I type this I am 20 years old. I read quite a bit, play video games, and I watch a fair bit of television.
This bit kinda turned into a sci-fi rant:
I'm a sucker for sci-fi, but it has to be good sci-fi. I know I'm probably going to piss a lot of people off with this, but Star Trek and Dr. Who, at the least the new Dr. Who, are not good science fiction. Star Trek pretty much uses a new planet each week in order to survive, which makes it kind of shitty, at least in my opinion. As for the new Dr. Who, it always ends in an inescapable situation which they somehow escape from, I don't mind the use of the deus ex machina as a plot device every now and then, but using it every episode is abuse. As far good science fiction television goes, your safe watching The X-Files, they do the monster of the week thing somewhat often but they also have a nice overarching plot. The new Battlestar Galactica is pretty good too, it had a few issues, but on the whole the series was pretty good.
