My name is Jilian, I'm 5'8, 135 lbs, chestnut hair, chocolate eyes, and work way too hard for my own good. I am interested in science, particularly chemistry and marine ecology. Specifically, I am fascinated by marine invertebrates (my favorites-especially Scyphozoans!) and how they are affected by the growing impact of ocean acidification.

I am naturally curious, outgoing, and I like to think critically and clinically. I ask questions because I want to understand. I am passionate, and driven, and when I know what I want, I go for it. And to dismiss the accusations I get from time to time, to quote Einstein, "It's not that I'm so smart, It's just that I stay with problems longer."

My long term goals include a Masters degree, possibly a PhD (I have yet to decide). The only thing I truly know is that I want to go on to teach science, preferably from 8th grade-high school. I work well with students and can be an effective and compassionate educator.

Good good. Baby's doing pretty good for being a month early. Ian is loving his little sister, digressed a little on the potty training but he'll get back on track.
