About Historical Me

I am Cecil Marion Johnson, born on September 12, 1894.

I spent much of my life in Ashville, Ohio, although I also once worked in a tire factory in Akron, Ohio.

I married Rosetta Sines in Akron, Ohio on December 21, 1916. My wedding was witnessed by Rev. B. F. West and Mrs. Florence J. West.

My parents are John William and Susie Johnson. I am the oldest with four younger siblings. They are Harold Glendon (b. February 22, 1900), Ralph Sterling (b. March 21, 1902), Charles Francis (b. September 21, 1904), and Edna May (b. May 6, 1906).

Harold is married with four children - Art, Catherine, Suzella, and John William. Charles married Dorothy Brown and has two children, Charles Junior and John William. My sister Edna is married to Jess Brady.

You can learn more about the historical me by reading my Memorandum Book, which was my diary from 1921-1922.

About the person running this account

Cecil Marion Johnson was my great-grandfather's oldest brother. Somehow I ended up with his diary, and I wished to make a digital record of it in case something happened to the original. After failing to keep up with my other attempts to copy his diary, I decided to make Cecil an account on Gaia and type out one entry of his journal each day I got on this account.

I've attempted to reproduce what he has written exactly, be that odd punctuation, crossed-out words, or misspellings. At times I am unable to make out what he has written, however. I did deviate from his writing in one way: he recorded his dates as "Mon Jan 1", not "Monday January 1, 1921". I decided to type the dates like that for the sake of clarity and to specify the year of each entry.

My main account is Salathielly, if you want to know more about me. (Yes, I am a girl.)

It's been a while since this profile has gotten a comment... This profile has brightened my day and I think it's great how you've dedicated it to your great-grandfather.

Hi, well it has been such a long time since I have stopped by and visited my friends, my deepest sincere apologies. Sometimes Life just gets really busy. Anyhow I had time today and I thought I would pop in and see how life is treating you, and leave you these words of wisdom to ponder.
Have a wonderful week.

I found this wonderful quote today and thought I would pass it on to all my friends. Wow it has been forever since I have passed out any words of wisdom, hasn't it. I hope all is well with you and that your day is blessed with lots of love and laughter.
"The golden opportunity you are seeking is in yourself. It is not in your environment, it is not in luck or chance, or the help of others; it is in yourself alone."

Well, you know the new annoying feature that makes your 'rare' items sparkle? There's an option to switch it off in the technical options feature, the one that controls who sees your info and what you want to be notified of.
