Yeah except all my finals were horrible exams, not papers i could bs.
Yep, I wanted to do my major and maybe do some physics/astrophysics/astronomy as a minor. NOPE.
I remember when I decided to pop by the Hong Kong society to join one here, cuz I thought it would be cool to hang out with people from back home.
Walked in to their first gathering intro thing at the start of the year, everybody just stared me down =/ Felt so unwelcomed, never have I dealt with snobby hong kong people in hong kong, but here? Brown guy, what is he doing at Hong Kong soc. White people were more than welcomed tho lol
Ergh that's awful. Were they mainland chinese or what? I wouldn't have taken that s**t. Obviously wouldn't start something but yeah. I'd just drop some casual canto/mandarin swearing.........
Hong Kong is like living in NYC, so there's a room for me so it makes sense, especially since i'll be jobless haha
It all depends on the lecturer and stuff for attendance grading. I hate that a big final exam is their thing for 99% of classes. No coursework, no midterms, etc.
Yeah that's what attracted me, the 4 year masters, but it's all very condensed and you only do things specifically for your chosen "major" There's no actual majors and minors or anything. I thought the teaching is bullshit and weak, and shef uni is one of top in the country for a ton of s**t and what not.
Yeah Manc is crazy chinese. It's the big name cities and stuff that attracts em. It really irks me that you know, they come abroad for education but don't really integrate with other people. What is the point? You have good universities in china too, and you're not helping your multicultural/people skills. Hell, it's not helping your English skills either (i've had to suffer pretty bad in some group work s**t)..I mean when I did my viva for my dissertation, I had two chinese students doing theirs too and they completely flopped. One didn't even understand the title of his topic and completely BOTCHED THE WHOLE THING.
Man this all makes me sounds really negative and ranty but i'm not haha!
Oh hell no, I'm so used to my own schedule and what not. And my parents will treat me like i'm 14.
I've been in shef for 5 years now
I've wanted to check out some but none of my friend groups were into that sorta thing
idk, i think if you're doing bs majors then yeah, but i think it's tougher in some sense if you're doing something decent
i actually regret moving here, i hate the education system
but I lived in hong kong for 10 years and my parents are there so that's home
Whattttttt, you were in manc????? We could have totally hung out, easily.
Ya I like how shef is p much connected to everywhere. Quick direct train to london or anywhere
haha I did in first year but now I don't even bother, just accept the light rain
well just finished, but didn't really have much luck on the job front and am heading home bleh
