Oh dear. Now I'm going to have to write another proto-thesis <sigh>.

But yeah. Very well put. You veered away from religion and focused on science a bit much <for my taste>, but it was interesting none-the-less.

I'll have to get back to you on this Puikei.

PS - We should publish our intense discussions into an "Anthology of Intellectual Oddities: A Rant On All Things Controversial" <I rather like the title...made it myself>.

I loved Harrison Bergeron!!! Great allegory.

And yes. I did watch Zeitgeist. Only the part that you sent me though. And now, before I begin my analysis I need to explain to you my certain brand of faith. I believe in God. End of Story. However my beliefs area bit...unconventional.

The fact that science can "Disprove" or "Debunk" most of Catholicism means nothing to me. What is science but a man-made explaination for things that occur naturally? Everything that can be explained through science would have existed regardless of its "discovery". Had Newton not discovered gravity, would it not exist? What if Jane Doe had discovered it instead? Would it be called Gravidy? How about Graviwy? No matter what the name it would still exist, and it would still function. How about Roemer? What happened before he discovered the speed of light? Did light not flow? Was the world dark until he came up with his man-made constant consisting of man-made numbers with a man-made meaning? No. It was not. So what then guides these forces? What created them? What keeps them moving when all other "science" says that they should not? Well, the answer to me is obvious. It is God. God and his power. An invisible and ever-moving froce that creates, maintains, and establishes what we have come to know. How else could such events as the big bang, or other signifcant "scientific discoveries" have transpired? Is science to tell me that two particles just so happened to be floating about in the vaccum and emptiness that was? And that these two particles just so happened to be traveling with the exact speed and precission necessary to create our universe as it is today? Now, if you ask me, this is impossible. Unimaginable infact. However the truth is that these events did transpire, and that the universe was created. The evidence is in you, and me, and the very laptop that I'm typing on at this very moment. So how then could this have occurred? When the science is behind it, but the rationality is stacked against it? God.

With all of that being said, I can move onto say that my translation of the Bible is by no means a literal one. I can say with near certainty that the story of Adam and Eve quite possibly never transpired. And this, I can conceed. But What I do believe is that the lesson is that of God. And that the men who wrote the bible were not mere apostles, but scholars. And that these scholars used their theological understanding, paired with their intelligience to create the Bible. The stories of the Bible are perhaps the most effective display of allegories and metaphors ever to be in existance <which seems appropriate now that I began with Bergeron>. These stories convey the complex and seemingly daunting tasks of God and trnasform them into tiny, travel sized suitcases. I very much believe His teachings and am even more impressed by the manner in which they were spread. I appreciate them more because of the cleverness, yet simplicity about them.

Now finally...for my analysis. I feel like Zeitgeist was horribly interesting. One of those "Oh God <sorry>, I really shouldn't be watching this but I will anyway" type of feelings. And I will admit that the man makes absolutly PERFECT sense. Its well thought out, organised, and logical. But I can't choose to believe it. If every time someone who came around with a charismatic and well analyzed conspiracy theory was automatically accepted, our society would fail to exist. I mean communism looks great huh? Look at all that equality. But hey, you wanna know what sounds even better? Anarchy. How cool is that? Total fairness. No goevernment intervention. And what if we all killed ourselves? Well that'd be cool. Then we'd really all be okay. Cause if no one was around to pollute the earth then global warming would stop! AND THEN NO MORE POLAR BEARS WOULD DIE!!! But the truth of the matter is that communism, anarchy, and mass suicides all have supremely negative sides as well. You cant us

Im not saying my life doesn't mean anything to me. Cuase it does. I just mean that I try not to preoccupy myself with things that are out of my control. Its like, the ceiling on my house could fall and crush me right now, but you dont see me cowering in fear with a helmet and a neckbrace. Thats just how I feel.

And Im not sure that I have a first or second favorite book. I just have an selection of preferences <eloquent, isnt it?>. But if I had to choose a second it might be "Slaughterhouse Five", "The Westing Game", or "I Am the Messenger". LOVE those books, especially "Slaughterhouse Five".

And I'll definately check out Zeitgeist <spelling?>. Sounds interesting.
