I think it's so loved because of the number of characters there is. If you also look at the other Square Enix games the characters can sometimes be simular but great in there own ways. The Bouncer (one of the first games for Ps2 when it was released) was a game with awesome characters. The story rocked to.

The film and Dirge of Cerberus game gave me alot more respect for Yuffie, she gets alot more dialog than the other chatacters from FF7 making people view her as more than the Son of $%^& that stole your materia in the, hehe Tidus is a good character. When i thikn of describing him it would be: clueless idiot becomes hero. (Clueless idiot makes me like him more. Its how i normally RP a character)
