About
Hi. I'm At_The_Masked_Ball, but you can call me Kagome, Gome-chan, Ginny, Mask-chan, Maa-chan, Duckie-chan, Ducky, Ahiru-chan, Nan, or whatever floats your boat at the moment, as I'm listing all the things I'm called on an anything like frequent basis these days. As a result, some of the older nicknames have been removed (Usagi-chan, for example). Also, I'm on Gaia still, but I'm not as big a poster as I used to be. In fact, at this point, I'm barely on at all.
I'm quite jaded when it comes to roleplaying at this point, since my guild has died like three times, and whenever I casually look for a new one, I seem to encounter annoying phenomena *cough*people writing romances scenes with themselves*cough*.
My fandoms hath been updated! My interests are not the same as my fandoms, anymore! Because Whofic is PAIN.
MY CURRENT INTERESTS/FANDOMS: Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X, The Darkangel Trilogy by Meredith Ann Pierce, Spirited Away,Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Fables by Bill Willingham.
Random Outcries: Okay, this will probably get me lots of nasty comments, but I have to say it, people. STEPHENIE MEYER'S TWILIGHT SAGA SUCKS LIKE A VAMPIRE ON YOUR NECK! And that is *not* a good thing. It's pathetic trash: it fails at being a vampire book, it fails at being a goth book, and it even fails at being a romance book. So what is it? An overlong misogynistic Mary Sue ramble in published form. You want good vampire stuff? Books: Anne Rice, Anime/Manga: Hellsing, Movies: Bram Stoker's Dracula. I think we can all do without MORE whiny reluctant vampires in need of anti-depressants in love with whiny teenage girls, thanks very much (though if there are any more whiny gay vampire books, those would at least be *different*). So do yourself a favor. Discover Alucard and Lestat, and re-discover Dracula. Stake Emo Edward! Louis can remain, I suppose, because at least he was the original whiny reluctant vampire.
MY NAME: At_The_Masked_Ball is the name of chapter nine in The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. It's also the name of an opera that sounds neat, but I've never seen (A Masked Ball). Make what you will of it. I'm too lazy to bother with a more original name change.
MY PROFILE: Blood to match the Seras Victoria cosplay. Which will probably be loitering for longer than I'm actually into Seras, because I'm terribly lazy.
MY AVATAR: Uh.. I got nothin'. Bought the dress when I was working on a Drusilla cosplay (Spike and Dru FTW!), then never found good hair for it, and just started making my avi all pretty.
MY MULTIMEDIA: Hellsing AMV! Because I am too lazy to get new multimedia!
MY HOBBIES: Musicals (last seen: Sunday In The Park With George on Broadway, Les Miserables in Philadelphia), Opera (last seen: Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Metropolitan Opera House), Ballet (last seen: The Merry Window at the Metropolitan Opera House), Fantasy books, British History, Japanese History, finding random things to geek out over (lately it's been armor), Movies (Richard Burton, yo), dogs (so there's a lot of jokes that I laugh extra hard at that no one else gets), Languages (fluent in English, obviously, studying Japanese intensively though I'm going to have to switch back to French, picking up bits of Spanish and Latin, and thus understanding pieces of Italian and lots of random Dutch and Finnish which I can't pronounce), Herbology, composing, writing (I do horribly with poetry, but I love writing stories and have been struggling with lyrics for almost two years now). So to summarize that, I'm scandalized by things which no one else cares about. Like WAIT WHICH EARL OF NORTHUMBERLAND IS THAT ONE AGAIN?. *facepalm*
My friend's hair is one of the natural wonders of the modern world.

Proud to be anti-Twilight saga!
Because I like my vampires to at least attempt to be evil. And I like my heroines to be less self-absorbed twits.
