Salutations! My name is Katherine, although I have a statistically improbable number of friends that share my name. For the sake of clarity, they have taken to calling me Kat, and I guess that's what I'll go by.
I'm seventeen, and heading off to college this fall. Most teenager-type things are lost on me. Music, clothes, cars, cell phones and the like are all kind of a giant mystery, and I'm mostly okay with things staying that way. I'd rather not get caught up in that kind of vanity.
I'm admittedly a giant dork, and at least right now, my favorite things in the world are my pencil, my dolls, and my camera.
Yeah, I'm one of those people with those creepy dolls. For BJD folk, I have a migidoll ryu, soom cass, and I'm waiting on a migidoll jina to hybridize with my supia body. You can probably find me lurking on DoA any time of the day. 8D
I like to draw too, and don't hold any pretensions of being good at it. I was accepted to art school (RISD), and it was a hard decision to turn them down, but I've been raised by supremely practical people and financially it just doesn't make sense. So unfortunately, art must remain for me a very serious hobby, and not a career.
I'm Chinese, and a die-hard academic. I study because I actually like to, and I get really creepy feelings of insecurity if I don't. I'd like to study history or perhaps physics in college, but I have no idea what the future holds for me.

I will go look up some guidelines and see if they do any good, thanks for the suggestion, I've never really used them before^^ (guidelines for proportions that is, not sugestions >.< wink
And it's weird how certain angles look normal in real life but strange on paper, although again probably my perspective.
I hope I get a tablet too!!!
Do you only use digital media or do you use other stuff as well? (Copic markers, ink pens and the like) And do you have any tips for drawing people?
