Well the first game was really good but it was so repetitive x-x
However I think you should at least read through what happened in the first game
Then you should definitely play through Assassin's Creed 2 and then Brotherhood
Those 2 have major improvements over the first game.
And Brotherhood is just so much fun to play xD

I've been wanting to play Fable III D:
I never got to play the first game and I played a demo of the 2'nd game kinda
They were cool D:
I loved Brotherhood >_>
Ezio is an amazing character. I'm so excited for Assassin's Creed 3. I wish they would drop some teasers and stuff D8
The best thing about the AC franchise is that the whole main story is full of WTF moments xD
Like it is so hard trying to figure out what is going to happen next and what is really going on xD
The whole historical conspiracy of the Pieces of Eden is just so ******** incredible @_@
