About
Hi all. I’m Anata, and don’t really have too many nicknames on here, though a few people have ventured to make some.I’ve been on Gaia for what seems like forever, and I occasionally get bored with it. That means: if I’m offline for a while, that’s pretty normal. I’ll come back eventually.
When I first started here, I hung out almost exclusively in the ED forum, but gradually made my way over to Word Games. That’s where I spend most of my Gaian time, now. It’s fun, though I occasionally branch out into other forums.
I have a Bachelors degree in Gender and Women’s Studies from a wonderful school in California. I spent three years there growing, bitching, and generally beating my brains out over administrative problems, but it was still (somehow) worth it. I’m now taking some time off to work and to intern with a law firm before I head to law school. I’m terrified, but I’ll do it anyway. xD
I really do want to become a lawyer, for socio-political reasons (yay for government ********), but there are many other things that I would love to do if I could make a real living off of them. For one, I enjoy painting and drawing, though I’m not all that great at either. I also love to sing and write music, but I’m not a big fan of performing. My biggest love, however, is writing. I write poetry and prose, both of which I’ve been doing practically since I was in the womb. I’m writing a novel currently, and am hoping to finish it and it’s companion books sometime in the next few years. I doubt it will ever see the light of day, but I enjoy it anyway.
What else? I don’t like organized religion, of any kind. They’ve done too much to hinder the world, in my opinion. I neither understand nor enjoy them. That doesn’t mean I oppose anyone else being part of an organized religion. That just means I’ll bite your head off if you try to indoctrinate me. I am an agnostic, and prefer to remain so - despite being culturally Jewish. xD
I am also bisexual, though I go through periods where I’m more physically attracted to one sex over the other. It goes back and forth, which makes complete sense to me, since sexuality is fluid. I do consider myself a bit of a pansexual, but very few people I’ve encountered understand that, so it’s just easier to say bisexual.
That’s really all I can think of to say about myself. Feel free to ask any questions. I’ll most likely answer them.
I leave you with a few random quotes and some links:
"Elephants are not purple. This is wrong."
"I find that very few people are scary once they've been poked in the eye."
