That seems to be the case just about every book turned into a movie. Like Eragon, Twilight, etc. Ella Enchanted's one of the few books that they interpreted well into a movie. It's definitely not quite up to par with the book but I still enjoyed the movie smile

Sorry, my parents wouldn't let me have anything to do with it growing up. They didn't like the witchcraft element. Now I'm just not interested in reading them. I've heard too much about them for the plot to be interesting to me. I don't want to know all the details before I read it.
Plus this is rather silly, but since basically everyone has read them, I feel like if I read them, I'm conforming, lol smile

Alright I like:
Uglies, Pretties, Specials, Extra - by Scott Westerfeld
The Cry of the Icemark, Blade of Fire, The Last Battle of the Icemark - by Stuart Hill
Eragon, Eldest, Brsingr, Inheritance - by Christopher Paolini
Across the Nightingale Floor, Grass For His Pillow, Brilliance of the Moon - by Lian Hearn (I read these in French.)
I'm not a huge fan of the classics but I adore Swiss Family Robinson. My copies falling apart I've read it so much.
I also enjoy mystery novels. I read nearly all the Nancy Drews (by Caroline Quine) growing up in both French and English. Later on I started reading some Agatha Christie and her books were amazing.
I am guilty of reading the Twilight saga. I like the books (I read them long before the movie came out, but I'm not a fan of the movies.
I don't usually like biographies or autobiographies but the exceptions are Three Cups of Tea and Miracle at Tenwek.
There's many more but I don't want the list to be never ending smile
