I think other people have a bad image of a southern accent, thinking people who talk southern are stupid. And I don't like people thinking I'm stupid.

Not really against it, no. I just find it extremely annoying. And it gives Missouri a bad name. People already call us a southern state. So when I talk southern, it just adds to it. Same with people saying y'all. I've had so many people say "Oh you're from Missouri! Do you guys say 'yall' there?"
