As far as making the background of your SJ... Err, well, how did you do it? I'd been kind of wondering if the site has a 'build-it-yourself' thing, or if you have to code it yourself...

I think I was turned on to it by a friend way back in the day, I don't really remember... But I spent most of my time in the Roleplay forums and the General Discussion forum, and then when I learned about the Picture Post, I started staying in there mostly. :3
I think the first MC I paid for was the Autumn Glory, I remember not buying them for a really long time because I was paranoid that my payment would never make it there. >_>; I was such a paranoid kid. xD That made it so my account never got hacked though, happily. :3
A guild, I was thinking about making a thread in Comic Creators or something for mine. :'3 Maybe when I come up with a less cheesy title for it. "Recovering Redemption" seems so... Awkward. >_>; It makes perfect sense for my story, but I dunno about it.
Ooo I just got a great idea for a cameo... I should draw it while i'm thiking about it! Muaha!! >:3
Good to know, I think mine are in a JPG format so far (I'll have to check that). I've just had them a bit big, they're like 960x750-ish pixels, I should probably take it down to maybe 800x600-something. :3
My pages might be a bit busy for a smartphone, but they're not too much different from a regular manga page so maybe it wouldn't be too bad. :'3 I'll probably put it online as soon as I make a little bit
of extra stuff for it. An advertisement banner and all that kind of stuff, I kinda forgot about the extras... I feel like my SJ page is gonna need to look a little pretty if I want to attract some attention to it, hahaha~
I remember when I first started on Gaia I was on it for hours on end, but now I just check my messages and lurk in the Picture Post forum... I feel like all Gaia needs are Flash/JavaScript chatrooms and
they'll have everything, and we'll all be set. Maybe that's the next thing on their list, hehe... >:3 I still love Gaia though, it's grown with me. It's a big source of inspiration for me as far as drawing goes. <3
That's good to know! A lot of the comics I've read have been on SJ so I can't really see it being that bad even if it does have issues.
I'm a little worried about the 500KB upload max because a couple of my pages are pretty close to that, but I don't think any of them
actually go over so I think it'll be okay. :3
I think I might put it online pretty soon... I've gotten a lot of encouragement from the friends I've sent it to~

I guess even if they did want to come after me, I could just say sorry and take it offline; not that big a deal. xD
I'd heard a lot of horror stories about Smackjeeves having server problems and comics being randomly deleted
and such, but none of them were first-hand so I had my fleeting suspicions that they weren't true... Good to know they're not!
All of this makes me want to work even harder on my comic, it's not anywhere near as good as any of the ones I've read but
i'm certainly inspired to make it that way!
It's a good thing I'm trying out both ways then! The on-the-fly way seems to be doing a bit better for me, since i'm already drawing it and I haven't even started drawing the other ones with stories. It's got thirteen poorly done greyscale pages! Yaaaaay, hahaha~ I think my next pages will have a bit of talking to explain what the hell happened in the earlier pages, but that'll be the most talking in the series yet, so I guess i'm doing pretty well with that too! They do kind of stand a liiiittle bit though. I'll just have to change that in the next pages! I have a little bit of a story, for like... The first of maybe 12 chapters. I'm kinda excited, I started drawing it back in high school and didn't really know where to take it, but it's actually a little developed now~ My characters, one I've had forever, the second i've had for about a year or two, and the third I created for shits-n-giggles and I can't draw her for crap. xD
You host Neon Glow on Smackjeeves, would it be appropriate to host a Gaia-based comic there? My comic may or may not unintentionally have become based on Gaia, and the Comics section of the Art Arenas is pretty weak. I mean, you can't even read them page-by-page, and finding the "artist's gallery" is way too much work unless the reader really, really loves the comic and is willing to sift through that unsorted mess... I'm just worried that if I were to host it on Smackjeeves, that GaiaOnline might try to like... Come after me for copyright or something (even though like 90% of their items are ripped off of pre-existing things as well). I'd change it to make it less Gaia-like, but the story is a little bit reliant on Gaia items right now. One of my main characters is wearing a Durem tank top, I think it'd be hard to change all of that now, after having completed 13 pages already. sweatdrop
