I took a break for a couple years to take care of myself and things in the real world. When I came back I felt the same as you, so many things were different but also so many were exactly the same. I ended up coming back awhile ago to help out and just kind of slid right back into it like nothing had changed. <3
No problem! I actually entered the GC Runway today but am not doing too great. I did win a few times early on when I had more time to put into it, though, so maybe I will again if I ever find the time. I'm working on an avatar for the gold entry one for tomorrow, though.
I'll send a pic in a PM of how I have my inventory sorted. I will say it's better to sort things in your "All" tab instead of individual ones because the inventory arranger is kind of buggy.
Oh and if you want more rigs, vote in Runway (under games). After so many consistent days of voting, you get another one. I sold my last one for 9.25 bil.

Nah you don't have to keep those. I sent them so you could keep what you want and sell the rest to get things you want. I think that'll give you a pretty good start. As far as rigs go, I think it depends on the rigs. Like, I know one of them I was opening for a while (I forget which one, but I got the shark husbands out of them) were better to open. I still ended up with a bunch of cheap stuff that I've been selling off for a Modmas art contest, but I still ended up with a good chunk of gold for this account, too. The last one I opened though (with all of the moon-themed items) was probably better to sell. I pretty much open them all anyway. I can let you know if the current ones are worth opening if you want.
Modding is definitely the biggest draw for me these days. The mod team really hasn't changed much in several years, and we seem to have a good group. We could always use more, though. Is that something you think you'd want to get back into? Fear not. As far as I know, nothing bad has happened to anyone on the mod team since you left. I understand the stress and the social anxiety, though. There are definitely days that I do not sign into anything and just watch stuff on Hulu because I want to be left alone. I seem to have found a good balance with that, though.

How do I know someone is a real mod?
You can identify genuine moderators and other Gaia staff by the colour of their usernames: This announcement lists all the official colours.
Moderators on Gaia have green usernames and a title underneath their name.
How can I become a moderator?
For legal reasons you need to be at least 18 years of age to apply to become a moderator on Gaia. You also need to have made at least 300 (non spammy) posts, have not collected too many warnings and your account must be at least 6 months old.

I heard mods get stuff for free; is that true?
It is a popular myth that moderators can get any item they want, or any amount of gold for free. This is not true. We do not get anything for free; we have to work for our gold and items, much like everyone else has to work for theirs.
Another myth says that we get the items/gold of banned accounts. That is not true either. Banned accounts remain frozen exactly as they are for all eternity (or until the ban ends or is revoked for some reason) and no one gets to benefit from what they contain.
Why was my signature disabled?
Usually the notification message lists the reason why your signature was disabled. You can also PM a moderator to ask for clarification.
