Aer-spific.

.
Hi, I'm Aeony and I am a Site Moderator of Gaia Online.

My name here used to be Aer.y, so you can call me Aer, Aery or Aeony. Beloved Mistress works too. :D

If you have a question regarding the site please do not ask in my profile comments down there. Instead, send me a PM!
This will make it much easier for me to answer and neither you nor I will overlook it. :3

The rumour that moderators will eat you alive and set your village on fire for PMing them is greatly exaggerated. Most of the time.

Seriously, don't be afraid to message us, if there is something you are uncertain about. (This applies to Gaia issues; it's not an offer to help you choose your clothes or some such thing.)

No longer a mod. :3

Mini FAQ

Someone asked for my password!

If it was by PM, use the Report link (which is located at the end of the button rows below and above the PM) to report it.

If you gave your password, change it right away! There is still a chance the hacker did not yet get around to you.

Do not fill a scam or hack report form for this unless you did give out your password and ended up being hacked for real.

Please remember that asking for someone's password is illegal on Gaia.
If they say they are a moderator or admin or in some other way affiliated with Gaia, they are lying. We don't need your password, ever.

How do I know someone is a real mod?

You can identify genuine moderators and other Gaia staff by the colour of their usernames: This announcement lists all the official colours.

Moderators on Gaia have green usernames and a title underneath their name.

How can I become a moderator?

For legal reasons you need to be at least 18 years of age to apply to become a moderator on Gaia. You also need to have made at least 300 (non spammy) posts, have not collected too many warnings and your account must be at least 6 months old.

For more information and the actual application link, read carefully through the Moderator Application FAQ.

I heard mods get stuff for free; is that true?

It is a popular myth that moderators can get any item they want, or any amount of gold for free.
This is not true. We do not get anything for free; we have to work for our gold and items, much like everyone else has to work for theirs.

Another myth says that we get the items/gold of banned accounts.
That is not true either. Banned accounts remain frozen exactly as they are for all eternity (or until the ban ends or is revoked for some reason) and no one gets to benefit from what they contain.

Why was my signature disabled?

Usually the notification message lists the reason why your signature was disabled. You can also PM a moderator to ask for clarification.

Kilarra created an extensive guide about how you can avoid disabling.
