That's a whole lot of advanced classes, but you do seem like the person for them, so good luck! And no, I guess I didn't hear; what happened?

Hey there~
I know of four classes currently set in stone; AP English, Yearbook, French 2, and Algebra 2. The other two are up in the air since I got US History out of the way at COS. It'll probably be an art class of some sort and some other elective.
What about you? Will I be seeing you in English & French class again this year..?

Sadly, no. The "heat protectants" out there, if you look in the ingredients, are just -cones. This isn't to say that, in extreme moderation, it won't damage your hair terribly much... but it still will dry it out and cause a fair bit of damage, especially if you use it frequently. See: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=79 - This might explain a little, seeing the actual hair up close and personal.

Thank you for the compliment! So far as advice on growing your hair long... there are a few basics. Trim it infrequently, once every 3-6 months should be about the maximum. No use in trimming off all of your progress. I only wash my hair 1-3 times a week, depending on whether it "needs" it or not. I also don't use any shampoo with Sulfates in it, as those over-strip your hair, causing you to need more and more conditioner (and to wash more frequently, as it makes your scalp overproduce oil when you strip it frequently and with harsh things). Most expensive conditioners have things ending in -cone and -none that I also avoid, because they essentially seal your hair off from moisture and...well, everything else, drying out your hair to the point where you need more -cones to cover up the damage temporarily. It's just a bunch of nasty cycles, really.

Stay away from chemical dyes and heat-styling, as well as most product. For conditioning/moisturizing and taming frizzies, I use a small amount of coconut or jojoba oil smoothed between my palms and then smoothed through my hair from the tips up towards my ears, but never higher. I also keep my hair up, in a braid or a bun, to keep it from getting extra damage from day-to-day things... rubbing against materials and chairs, getting caught in things, getting tangled up, all that. With my hairtype I also only use a wide-toothed seamless comb from The Body Shop, it's wooden and about 10$, only detangling from ends towards scalp, while dry.

Probably the best thing I could tell you is to go visit the LHC (link in my signature) articles section. TL;DR? No heat, no chemical treatments, cheap shampoo/conditioner (v05 is cheap and doesn't have that stuff I mentioned) at most every other day, wide-toothed seamless combs, coconut/jojoba oil is your friend, trim infrequently, keep it up if possible! Also if you have curly hair, check out "conditioner only", where you just use conditioner (again, cheap) but it moisturizes your curls like nothin' else!
