Dear [indian princess] - I didn't say that I "won't" call myself a "christian" - I said that I don't like the term "Christian" you asked me to read your "comment 3 times, just so you fully understand what [you were] saying and don't saying anything out of anger and quickly." - well I suggest you follow your own advice & perhaps if you don't understand where someone is comming from you could ask them nicely to clarify their position before you go & call them names like "hypocritical" or put them on the defensive with accusatory questions like "what is your problem" . The scripture says that the devil is the "accuser of our brethren" in Rev 12:9-10 so I don't see why you are doing his job, unless perhaps you are working for him? If you are a christian it is not your job to accuse anyone of anything - let the devil do his job we don't need to give the enemy any help. The scripture says "Neither give place to the devil." in Eph 4:27. And if you are a christian it is not your job to condemn anyone as the scripture says that is Jesus' job "Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." Rom 8:34 & that verse says that Jesus who condemns us is also at the same time praying for us. Also it says that if Jesus has His way He will not condemn us "Jesus said... Neither do I condemn thee" (Jn 8:11) . If you are trying to condemn someone then I suggest you give them a scripture because the scripture says "And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. " (Jn 3:19-21) . Scripture will condemn me or anyone else a lot faster than anything else "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Heb 4:12) .

By the way I did read your comment at least 3 times as I stated before it didn't look like you read or understood mine before you posted it & I didn't see one scripture in it so please forgive me when I say I am not impressed - if you want to change my behavior then I suggest that you do not come to me with human reasoning but please come to me with a scripture (or better yet a stack of scriptures) because the scripture says "if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." (Isa 8:20)

In order to answer your post let me say that there are times that I have called myself a "christian" because it would save time - according to the definition {Chris•tian "kris-ch€n n : an adherent of Christianity; adj 1 : of or relating to Christianity 2 : based on or conforming with Christianity 3 : of or relating to a Christian 4 : professing Christianity (c)2000 Zane Publishing, Inc. and Merriam-Webster, Incorporated. All rights reserved.} I am a christian - just realize that I want to be precise in my words & I prefer to say what I mean & mean what I say. You called me "hypocritical" - but the reason that I don't like the term "christan" is because I don't want to associate myself with people who only read the scriptures or think about God once a week for an hour on sunday & yet call themselves "christians". I consider them to be hypocrites, so I find that kinda funny that you would call me hypocritical for trying to distinguish myself from hypocrites. I believe that being a christian is not a "hobby" that we do or a club that we go to once a week, but rather a lifestyle that influences every decision that we make. The scripture says "For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s." Rom 14:7-8. As I said there are people in organizations that I consider to be cults such as the "Mormons" & "Jehovah's witnesses" who call themselves christians & I refuse to be associated even by accident with either of those organizations, the scripture says "Abstain from all appearance of evil" 1 Thess 5:22. Also in case you didn't know; when the term "christian" was coined in Antioch in Acts 11:26 it was an insult. Now I don't know about you, but I pay attention to what cirtain words mean & although the current definition of the word may not have any negative connotations unless you are in a muslim circle - I always have the fact that it started as an insult in the back of my mind.

The "label" I prefer "Following after the Way" is scriptural because Jesus who I am following - {"For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps" (1 Pet 2:21) } identified himself "I am the way" in Jn 14:6 & his followers were called followers of "that way" in the bible more times then they were called "christians" in Acts 19:9, 19:23 & 24:22. Also seeing as how the book of acts was probably written in chronological order if the word "christians" appears once in the 11th chapter & "that way appears twice in the 19th chapter & again in the 24th chapter I think it would be even more appropriate to call ourselves "followers of the way" than "christians". A friend of mine calls himself a "disciple of Y'shua" - would you say he was a dog trying to be a cat as well?

You asked "what is your problem with other non-Christians?" I respond - I don't have a problem with non-christians Jesus used human pastors to teach me to "love the sinner but hate the sin" . If I have a problem it is with myself because "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing" (Rom 7:1 . What I just found funny is the way you said "other" non-christians - are you implying that I am a non-christian? What is funny about that is after I just said that the term "christian" was an insult I realized that for me to be called a "non-christian" is an insult - lol. As far as hypocrites the scripture says "But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat." (1 Cor 5:11) so that tells me that I am not supposed to hang out with or associate myself with hypocrites. I have a desire to obey as many scriptures as possible including that last one. I do have a problem with hypocrites because I believe that I have the same thing Jesus does; that I am "clad with zeal as a cloak." (Isa 59:17) so I loose my mind at the thought of a hypocrite - I believe that they give "christians" a bad name. I know that Jesus died to forgive them but I also know that untill they recieve that forgiveness it remains in the hands of the giver - namely Jesus. And in order to recieve forgiveness we have to repent - wich would entail us stopping our hypocritical behavior. In other words hypocrites are most likely not saved & the scripture says "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?" (2 Cor 6:14-15) . So now can you see my reasons for not liking the term "christian" when I believe that some "hypocrites" are called "christian"?

So you won't call yourself a Christian because other people don't understand the full meaning of being a Christian? You are very hypocritical in calling people "once a week wannabes" I don't get it, what is your problem with other non-Christians? There was a time when you were lost too child.

Refusing to call yourself Christian is like a dog trying to be a cat. It doesn't work. Please respond with a level head. And before you respond, I ask that you read my comment 3 times, just so you fully understand what I'm saying and don't saying anything out of anger and quickly.

I don't like the term "Christian" because the once-a-week wannabees & people in cults get thrown into the bunch - I call myself "Following after the Way"
