I am a 17 year old male that lives in Illinois and I'm now a Senior at EHS. I am about 6’3, have the strangest colored eyes (but I'm told they are a gorgeous blue), brown hair, and a distinguishable nose and ears. My friends say that I am honest and kind, though my girlfriend says that I can be a complete smart a**, but that she doesn't mind it. I have three brothers and two sisters. Lots of people say that i am easy to make friends with. I couldn't live without my friends, they keep me going.
I'm your average high school teenager who has average grades. My favorite classes I take are my Science, History, and French classes. I'm a big time video gamer (RPGs, Adventure, and Strategy are my favs). I enjoy anime and I love all sorts of fantasy. Vampires, dragons, werewolves, elves, dwarfs, etc. are the koolest. I love all kinds of music, I just can't get enough of it. Reading is like going into whole other worlds, and is just about one of the most spectacular things ever!!! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, i work at Coldstone! ^-^

It has so many characters that it can be confusing, and the content in it is very "adult" with the graphic sex and medieval torture and such. As a result, I don't recommend it to everyone (even though it's one of my fave series), so I hope that you wind up liking it. smile
Song of Ice and Fire is set in the medieval period. That's to be expected since the first book is called "Game of Thrones". It takes place in a fictitious country, so it's sort of like Lord of the Rings in the sense that you have to try to remember the names of all sorts of cities and characters. I love how the author isn't afraid to "go there." Throughout the series, lots of good characters die, and their deaths are extremely violent and graphic. There's so much greed and treachery from all sides. I love it!
The only thing I've read by James Mallory is Merlin: The Old Magic. That was good. Not great, but good. I've never read Lackey, but my uncle loves her.
Song of Ice and Fire is REALLY hard to explain because there's SO much going on. I wouldn't read the book summaries if I were you because they spoil things that happen past the midway point. It's basically a country in a civil war, and there's lots of conspiracy, intrigue, and treachery as different people contend for the throne. It has magic in it, too since some people resort to black sorcery to help their cause.
