I was reading a book recently that had a lot to do with Faeries, and they said Sidhe a few times, but I didn't really understand what they were talking about. I am bit of dust
on the clock’s hand,
counting the seconds away.

I am no more than a shadow
in a flawed diamond,
passing unnoticed.

I am because I listen
to the grass’ songs,

when dinosaurs walk the earth,
and man inhabits the stars.

Unicorns

One blacker than can be, all color purged,
hooves and horn, dark mother of pearl,
vivid blue, vibrant green, deep red emerge,
never repeat, eddy, drift, fade, unfurl.

Gently piercing, indistinct violet eyes
vivid gentleness at war with dark might.
Hair - waterfalls of starless, moonless skies,
liquid emptiness, void consuming light.

The other whiter than new sun-kissed snow,
cool liquid silver starlight encasing,
swirling, spiraling, snaking, gliding glow.
Angel-red eyes, spherical flames blazing.

Moonlit spider webs, raging tail and mane,
flowing opal lava cascading, sinuous, surging,
slithering along shoulders like light falling rain,
strands separate, distinct, then suddenly merging.

Serene Night and unbridled Day, juxtaposed,
riding currents of timeless winds no one else chose.

Flowing, not running, so fast,
voices intertwining, dancing, weaving together,
hypnotic and soothing, yet so clear.

swirl, mingle, eddy, drift, fade, never repeating,
over and over, again and again, always new.
Violet eyes, vivid gentleness at war with dark power.
Tall, noble, fierce, spirited, graceful, elegant.
Tail and mane, dark waterfalls of starless, moonless skies,
liquid emptiness, vacuums, voids consuming all light.

Another whiter than sun-kissed snow,
liquid silver starlight horn and hooves
swirling, glowing, gliding, spiraling, snaking.
Devil-red eyes, spherical flames burning, blazing,
furiously consuming, draining, shattering hope, courage.
Immense, savage, ferocious, intense, bestial, vicious.
Spun-silken moonlit snow, tail and mane, streaming, raging strands.

Opposites, serene night and unbridled day, juxtaposed,
fleeing, flying, darting, hunting, pursuing, surging
for an instant, a moment, forever, eternally, always
questing, drifting, racing, flowing along currents of timeless winds.

Starry Island on a Waterless Sea

A midnight navy sky
over a serene onyx sea.
An island of fallen stars
alone on the endless expanse.

Not a round island,
as seen from above,
nor a tall island,
its hilly surface covered
in bony, star-strewn fingers
reaching for the sky.

A flat island,
glimmering in the darkness,
flat as the seas of shushing sands
that cup it securely in their palms
as it illuminates the clouds above it
and the placid sea of sand around it.
