Hihi. Well isn't it amazing that I'm actually writing something here about myself? It's still my belief you can't really get to know a person unless you spend time with them, but hey, this is as good a place to start isn't it?

I'm Iakun and I was given that name by a friend of mine, Sen Lee. I've been on Gaia since... wow, 2004, and this place sure has changed a lot. In my early days I used to lurk around a lot, mainly in the ED and HP sub-forum. I've stopped looking in on the ED since that place is just damn mean and I pretty much just stick to guilds now. I'm really excited about my own guild that I've started up for Final Fantasy XIII, so check it out! (see sig)

I like movies and music as much as the next person I guess and to a somewhat lesser extent, books. I'm not overly obsessed with any of those though I do have my favorite genres. I tend to like fantasy movies more than any other kind. I'd much rather watch a Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings/Narnia type movie. I like my music mainly from around the 90's and turn of the millennium. I can listen to a lot of fun songs, but I like songs with a bit more substance, or amazing vocals. As far as books go, the only ones I've ever really gotten into were the Harry Potter books. I think there's something special about that series since it gets so many people reading in an age where reading isn't all that popular (was it ever I wonder?). I always wanted to attend book releases at midnight or dress up as a Hogwarts student for a movie release, but alas, that never happened. T^T

As far as my more personal life goes, I'm a gay fairy princess currently unemployed and not studying anything. x_x JK about the fairy princess... sort of. XD I'm actually thinking about going into hair styling as I especially love coloring hair. I have this fear that even after taking instruction, I'll still royally mess up someone's hair!

My passions growing up were always art and singing, though over time I've lost contact with that more artistic side of me. I'd really like to reconnect to that and in the past 2 years or so I've also had an interest in writing a story. I think a lot of the desire for writing stems from the roleplaying I do with one of my best friends Moonracer. She's really the only one I feel comfortable roleplaying with!

I like to think of myself as a nice, understanding, empathetic person but hey, no one's perfect haha Being on Gaia's really opened me up and made me aware of the vast differences in people out there and it's been a major exercise in open-mindedness and casting judgements aside. I hope to keep on learning more about others and thus more about myself through others as well.

I am a bit shy at first even if it is nice to meet new people, but I would prefer to not receive friend requests unless we've talked in a thread and/or over PM's.
