Since more and more people I know in real life are starting to join Gaia, I figured I'd write myself a nice, new paragraph that isn't three years old. But I digress...
Hey! I'm Hannah. If you want to call me something related to my username, I'd prefer that you call me Memory, since it drives me a little bit crazy when people call me "Persistence." It sounds like an old-lady name...
Now for the hard part. I guess I have to give you some information about me. We all have limited attention spans, so I guess I'll be quick about it...
I'm a pretty average looking person, I guess. I'm not pretty, but I'm no toad either. My hair is brown and curly, and I have gray eyes. My height and weight are pretty average, too. I wear glasses and a retainer (just call me Fence-Face) and black t-shirts with jeans. Why black? It matches anything and I'm not much of a fashionista.
I guess my friends would tell you that I'm a pretty quiet girl. My parents would tell you that I'm "highly individualistic." Most people would probably also tell you that I'm the creative type. I draw a lot, and write occasionally. I can do poetry and and short stories, but I have to say that I like my short stories a lot better. My art? Eh, I do cartoons. I guess you could call it manga, but it's a bit more Westernized than a lot of the stuff you'll see around Gaia. I do avi art, by the way, if anybody's interested, and a shop will go up eventually.
Anime's alright, though I'm probably not the biggest fan around. Some good ones are Ghost Hunt, Hellsing, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Death Note. ...Not in that particular order. I just get hung up in all the lousy series out there, and I have real trouble getting into plotlines if I can't find a connection to the characters.
I'm an honors student, and I pride myself in that. I'm fairly good at anything but math. School is more or less my life right now, and that's really all I have to say about that...
Music? It's good. A couple of my favorite bands are Panic! at the Disco, Cursive, Apocalyptica, The Fratellis, and Coldplay. Chris Martin's voice is like...getting a backrub. Orchestral music is beautiful. I've been in my school's orchestra for going on five years in our fantastic cello section. I'm not the best cellist we've got, but it's a great instrument and I intend to get better.
I love movies. I rent a couple every weekend, which kind of proves that I have no life... My favorites vary...a lot. I'm absolutely crazy about Wall-E, Donnie Darko, Moulin Rouge, Shindler's List, and The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Conquerer of Shamballa is also really good.
Reading used to be better to me when there were still a couple Harry Potter books in the works, or an English class for which I have to read. Life of Pi is also a really good book, and I highly recommend it for anybody who wants to think. The worst thing I've ever read was The Good Earth. Take my advice: it's a terrible, terrible book. Do not read it unless you have no other choice. And I am not a Twilight fan. I'm just going to throw that out there, and I really have nothing else to say on the subject.
I like animals. Sure, they're great with ketchup. Hehe. Seriously, I love animals. Unfortunately, I've only ever owned goldfish and hamsters. My current hamsters are named Hubble, like the telescope, and Newton, like the scientist.
I'd love a cat, though, or a smaller dog who won't bite my face off.
