So... Something about me. Well. I'm a 18-year old girl and I think those who are more or less skilled in Latin can guess my real name (: (for those who can't speak Latin: it's Esther
)
I live in Holland. But that doesn't mean I live in a mill and neither do I wear those white bonnets (but my avi does (: ) and make my own cheese. I do like to wear dark colours like black, grey, purple and red (occasionally conbined with white) and I hate pants. I like to wear a sweater with a knee-length dress and thick stockings or knee-length socks in the winter. I like to make my own clothes, but rather than making something wearable, I like to spent my time making weird costumes and dresses for some annual fairs.
Last year I've graduated from the VWO (that's a degree in highschool here in Holland) and now I'm studying Biology at Leiden University. It's very nice and interesting, and I hope I'll get my propedeuse (the first year) in one year! So far, all is looking well, with just one fail for Computer Programming.
This is the dress I made for the Fantasy Fair 2006 and I've worked on it for a hell of a time. I've stiched every leaf and flower on it and put on the beads as well. The back was low and a few very itchy ribbons crossed it. You can see a bit of a very large bow as well. Although the dress isn't the most comfortable, it was very nice wearing it and I love it to death (:
This is the costume I made for the Elf Fantasy Fair 2007. I'm very proud of it and I have worked on it for half a year or something. It's a shame I don't have a nice picture from the back
There were like 30 tiny buttons on it.
I wore a corset and it was killing me O_o I'm the one with the blonde wig (I have red shoulderlength hair, so I had to wear a wig XD ) The other girl (yes, that's a girl) is one of my friends, pretending to be my husband (it would have been nice if she actually was a man)
Surprisingly, I made this costume for the Elf Fantasy Fair 2008. I'm the shorter one with the red collar. The 'husband' from the other costume is my friend in this one (told you she's a girl
) We made it all by our selves, the kimono-fabric bought from Japan. We made the shoes as well (and they were killing us since we walked on them for two days -_-), and the Kanzashi was a pain to make (the hair ornament). It's our real hair as well (I dyed it, my friend sprayed it). I'm really proud of it
