If you misplace your thread, I'll tell you. It's cool. Doesn't mean you did anything wrong, just to pay more attention next time. If you wanna get your panties in a twist and tell me "You're not a mod, and it's my thread I can do whatever I want!" I'll just get more angry and will make me report your thread faster. Please, at least SKIM the Rules and Guidelines sticky before you post your thread. It will save me and yourself a lot of grief.

RANT TIME!!!
I'm an avid body mod fan. I know my stuff. Don't try to tell me otherwise. I may not be a professional, but I'm working on it, at least when it come to knowledge (no one is offering apprenticeships within a 50 mile radius of me). Don't post in the RLF&S with your shitty piercings and wonder why they're infected when you "clean" them with alcohol and bactine, after having pierced them yourself in your filthy bathroom with your filthy hands and a filthy sewing needle. Don't get all high and mighty at me and call me names when I tell you how you SHOULD take care of your piercings, because if you DID know, we wouldn't be here arguing in the first place, would we?

There IS a proper way to take care of your piercings. There IS a proper way to stretch. There are slight variations, but they are all the same general practice. My products might not work for someone else, fine, but find something similar that DOES work for you. I preach the wonders of Tea Tree oil because it's worked best for ME. If it doesn't work for you, fine. Try Emu Oil, or something else. There are lots of other healthy stretching lubricants out there. Find one you like, but at least FIND ONE.

My methods are RIGHT. Any professional will tell you they are. I've done the research, I've practiced the right procedures, I've talked to professionals who know their stuff. I KNOW MY s**t. Again, don't try to tell me I don't just because you don't like that I didn't validate your shitty way of doing things.

I am harsh about it, yes, but I believe that if I'm not, you won't take it seriously. Does politely telling a child not to run in the street work all the time? No, you need a fierce, strong tone and a swat sometimes, if it warrants it. With shitty piercing threads, it warrants it.

Self piercings do NOT make you hardxcore. They make you look stupid, because they're crooked or off center, infected, and the wrong size. If you are not a professional, you should never be piercing yourself, or anyone else for that matter, with any materials. I don't care if you bought the right size needles and jewelry off ebay. You don't have a single clue what you're doing. You don't know the anatomy, you don't know the procedures, you don't know squat. It doesn't matter if you use the excuse "Well, our mom's pierced their ears in the 60's and 70's by themselves and they're fine!" Sure, what they DON'T tell you were all the girls who got serious infections and died/nearly died from those infections. Or all the failed attempts, the ones that were removed for being off center or crooked or uneven. They don't tell you about the ones who had to get their earlobes surgically cut off and reconstructed after severe infection nearly rotted them off their heads. And most of the time they weren't shoving sewing needles through their FACES.

I don't care how much "research" you did, I don't care how much you don't care, you're still an idiot. And I'm going to tell you as much if you post your stupid s**t in the RLF&S forum.

RULES FOR TALKING TO TATTOOED PEOPLE:
1) The absolute WORST thing you can ask a tattooed person is: "Did that hurt?" It's at least half a dozen needles at a time being forced through and dragged across your skin several hundred times a second. So... need I state the obvious?

2) Not everything has a totally epic story behind it. Don't ask me to explain every one of my tattoos to you. I don't have the time.

3) My eyes are up HERE. Don't stare at my tattoos while talking to me.

4) Piercings hurt. You're getting steel shoved through usually very sensitive parts of your body. So don't ask the obvious.
