He is a wicked jester from deep in the dark carnival. He would just pop out from oblivion an take away an unlucky soul to bring to his part of the carnival. No one knows when or where he will appear. No one also knows who he would take. Some have said that there is a pattern that he follows, but no one can solve this pattern. Some say that he appears so he can take a soul in the carnival that irritates him and takes it away to his zone. But still, no one knows.
His zone is connected to the Dark Carnival by a portal that opens and closes by his command. Therefore, no soul can enter or leave his zone without his say. In his zone, there is no such thing as death. The souls he takes away will be tortured for eternity with no chance of dying. Once the pain starts, it will never end. They say that when the Sideshow Loonie is inside his zone, he is superior and most powerful. As long as he is inside his zone, nothing is impossible for him. He can make illusions of himself to torture several people, he can be at multiple places at once, he can move things with his mind. ANYTHING is possible for him in his zone.
The Sideshow Loonie is the only other creature of the Dark Carnival that can walk in both the land of the living and of the dead. When he is in the land of the mortals, he has no powers, but he can never die. He is like the scout of the Dark Carnival. When the Dark Carnival wants a soul, The Sideshow Loonie comes to the land of the living and takes that person into the Dark Carnival. Sometimes, the Sideshow Loonie comes to the land of the living just to kill random people. It is his way of having fun.
