What my username means: Valkyrie is in short, a (female) soldiers' angel from Norse mythology. Use Wikipedia if you want to know more. Ryu (with the character I write it as) means 'dragon'.
What you should call me: Valkyrie is my title, so if you do not know me, I would rather you refer to me as Valkyrie, or Val / Valk if you are very lazy. If you know me, I will feel more comfortable if you call me Ryu, and I often get offended when friends refer to me as Valkyrie.

In brief, I am a sophomore in a University in California. I am a pure-blooded Indian (as in, from India) who types very, very fast. I am a (casual) gamer, techie, and a goth, though you may not be able to tell these things simply by looking at me (even in real life).

I log on to Gaia mainly to play with the economy/marketplace. Thus, I am a vendor, hoarder, and an exchanger. I love commons because I adore dressing up my avatar.
Usually I am lurking in Teh Hoarding Guild, my charity, Big Dweamerz, or replying to PMs.

Though I am a girl, a significant portion of my friends are guys. This is mainly because I enjoy rock, I am a hardcore gamer, and my major is Computer Science & Engineering / Engineering: Computer Science (abbreviated as CSE or ECS, depending on which college/university you are in). I guess you could say I'm a tomboy, but I feel that's incorrect. I feel more like I'm a combination of boy-ness and girl-ness. That might help you understand why I can wear Hello Kitty clothes and talk to my guy friends about video games.

I am an artist, photographer, and a graphic designer. I absolutely adore Photoshop, since I used it for 2 years in high school in my photography/graphic design classes. I am going to get Photoshop soon hopefully. I know a bit of HTML, and a bit of programming (since I'm learning programming for my major). I hope to be able to design webpages all by myself someday.

As far as T.V. goes, I watch a lot of Food Network, HGTV, Cartoon Network, Gameshow Network, G4, Discovery, TV Land, and Travel Channel. I LOVE the culinary arts, poker, and interior design. Blackjack is nice too.
Movies: I prefer Sci-fi, action, and horror movies. I only like some comedies, and I usually detest films of other genres.

As for video games, I like many different types. I generally play PlayStation games, but I would like to get a nice X-Box 360 soon, since all the best games are coming out on it. If you want to ask me whether I play certain games, please feel free to drop me a comment or send me a PM.

Music, I suppose, is also an important thing to talk about. I really love deathcore, techno/trance, electronica, industrial, most kinds of metal (including folk and symphonic), and songs anime/video game soundtracks. For particular bands that I like, refer to the list on the side of my profile. This list is by no means all-inclusive; there are many other bands that I like that I have not put up on that list. I LOVE international music, especially stuff like J-Rock. J-Rock is not only a musical influence on me, but also a stylistic influence.

Since I mentioned anime, I really do like a lot of anime/manga. Many of my favorites are mentioned on the list on the left of my profile. You will notice that a lot of them are geared towards boys (like Yuu Yuu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Naruto, Neon Genesis Evangelion...). The reason for that is, I find a lot of the manga/anime that is geared towards girls to be way too emotional. In addition, I used to watch Cartoon Network a lot when I was younger, including Toonami, Miguzi, and Toonami's Saturday night line-up. Since most of the shows on Cartoon Network are geared towards guys, I just got used to it. There are only a few feminine anime/manga that I like.

Favorite colours: Silver, Black, White, Grey, Gunmetal. (Secretly I am in love with icy-electric blues.) Due to the fact that these colors are sometimes boring to look at, I am very eclectic when it comes to color. I tend to like colors that contrast greatly, because it attracts my eye. My cellphone, for example, is black with lime-green.

When you're glowing it'll say "You've been glowing since [time]"

If you aren't glowing it'll say "Glowed on [date] @ [time]" xD
