Yes, I placed 7th with my Darkwing Duck Entry. Now let me explain something. NO I DIDN'T ENTER THE SAME THING FOR 2 MONTHS.
1) I did two different characters in that span,
2) it was a total of three entries, meaning I didn't enter every week.
3) I Did change things and followed advice I was given.
Also for those saying I didn't put forth any effort, you're wrong. I first entered DW with that hat came out. I've done DW a total of 4 or 5 times in the span. I've seen other entries of DW, and none of them were perfect either. If you used the "Elegant Vest" approach, it's too gaudy and there's the fact that it's a vest rather than a jacket. Adding a shirt under it means you can't do the actual shirt DW has on under the jacket.
Also if you're going to complain about the cape, look at the other capes that could have been used first. THe only one that would have slightly worked is the Demonic armor one, the reason being the outer part is the right color. However since most of what you see with the capes is the inside, the dark cape works better for the reddish color of DWs cape.
For the hat, I went with that one because it's closest in style to DW's. Yes, there are purple hats, but none of them make me thingk DW like the Vampire Hunter's hat does.
Also, please stop telling me it's overdone. There are things that are much more overdone that still end up winning.
Oh and for those who say DW has won before, please tell me which week. I've found Donald, Scrouge, The Warden of SUPERJAIL, Mother Goose, and Farfetch'd. but no DW.
Oh, and I've known other people who have submitted the same Idea multiple times and have had no one yell at them about it.
