*~the story*~
Walking on the Blood Red Road with the spider Andraya couldn't help but sense they were being watched. Decideing not to freak out her companion she kept this thought to herself.
Needing another rest Andraya managed to find another lone tree and sat beneath it.
The spider not knowing what was going on asked Andraya, "Why are you resting again?"
"I'm tired and if we are to continue I need strength and to make me a bow for our protection."She answered.
Content with the answer the spider nestled her self down on Andraya's shoulder and watched as she started whittling a bow from the stick Andraya first started.
Andraya put all her energy into the bow and by the time she noticed what was going on the bow was done as well as her arrows, all decorated. The spider sat amazed at the work this human was able to create.
"Are you good with that thing to or just making them?" The spider was not trying to sound rude, she was just curious.
Andraya knowing the spider meant no offense loaded the arrow and stepped quite aways away from the apple tree and picked an apple from the highest branch which was nothing more than a dot from this distance and let loose the arrow. It hit the mark and the spider sat amazed.
"You humans are always full of surprises." The spider was full envy wishing she herself could do that.
"Thank-you. I figured I'd show you instead of telling you. Back home I was always picked on by the guys. None of them could understand how I was so good. My secret, my father taught me while I was a child before he died and then I just kept doing it."
The spider could feel the pain in this girl when she mentioned the death of her father. Another secret to the spider. She never felt love only guilt and saddness. And now happiness and envy with this strange girl human.
"Well your lucky to have been able to have loved him while you could. The only mate I ever loved and I ate him after mating. Strange but I couldn't help it."
Andraya laughed at the irony of the situation and climbed to the tree to retrieve the bow. The spider again looked at this girl in awe at how nimbly she climbed the tree. On earth she never encountered a girl as able as this one, and said so.
"Again thank-you." Andraya said thankfully.
When she was done on the tree and back on solid ground Andraya fell asleep, and awoke scared out of her mind. She didn't recall haveing a nightmare so she couldn't understand it until the spider whispered in her ear.
"There is something watching us in those bushes over there."
Andraya looked over and noticed a set of red eyes staring at them. Andraya trembled and tried to speak as confidently and loud as she could.
"Who are you? Show yourself, else be a coward. I am armed and know how to use it."
The eyes laughed a horrifying laugh and stepped out.
"Shoot me if you can human, I dare you. But you cannot kill me. It'd be such a waste of a perfectly good arrow." It said not at all menacing but no less scary.
