I'm a video gamer. It's what I do. You could also say it's my life, but that's incorrect. I'm a speed demon at them as well, as some games take a few hours (such as a few NES games I have) to a few days (moreover for games like Zelda)
I've written a novel called Beneath the Horizon, and was into a sequel (Beneath the Horizon: Sunken Ruins) before I scrapped them. If you'd like to know what they were about, It was mainly 4 kids (2 girls travel to Atlantis to meet 2 boys) and defeat a maniacal scientist, Dr. Stingray. This takes place in Halifax, NS btw. The sequel was actually inspired by POTC Dead Man's Chest, as the start of the book, a band of pirates (a century ago) were sunk by a kraken in the Atlantic Ocean. The main characters go to investigate, while one of the character's parents get involved in the action: Kati's (the MAIN main character) mom goes down, because she is worried, amd her father because he is evil. I didn't get much farther than about 5-6 chapters, with relatively the same amount of deaths. The reason I scrapped them was because they weren't getting anywhere after halfway into the sequel. I guess you could say it was Permanent Writers Block.
I've been working on my own video game series, Soul, with 14 games in the works. However, I still haven't finished the storyline of the first one. (scrapped it; still trying to rewrite it) I was actually inspired by the The Legend of Zelda series, but found it was too similar, so I added in some stuff to differentiate it. You could say I've been doing research by playing different games. (mostly LoZ: TP and Sonic and the Black Knight) My reasons are:
From the Zelda research: Gameplay, characters (speech, design, races, etc), makeup of land, overall design, miscellaneous
From the SatBK research: Voiceover, (for characters) VO triggers, (Solo mode only)(such as performing a certain deed/task) etc.
I even worked up a cool background for what's called Dark Energy in what's known as the Crystal Sfeer for the first installment. I don't know why, but I've been designing characters for later installments in the series, mainly Anime-Tion, Charged, and others that haven't been put into games yet. I've also finished the "Energies" list for Charged, with a total of 14 Energies.
I'm more of an artist than anything when it comes to my series, so don't expect me to make a full blown trailer or something. You'll just have to see pictures (found @ my Photobucket account Kllr-Bckt and the Soul Stuff album) for it. Although if I were to make a trailer, just from my knowhow, it would probably take at least a year and look more like a flash animation.

I've also been emulating a lot lately, playing games that I don't have for the consoles. What sux about emulationg though, is that multiplayer games are strictly single on the emulator. I can't even play Four Swords as part of the ALttP GBA bundle. I can just watch the intro over and over.
Sory for the rant. I've started writing another novel from a result of midnight boredom, as I like to call it. The novel's called Nightmare, (with the 'R' reversed) and is actually based off of a story I had been working on in my late junior and early senior years at school. I'm not sure if this is aready out there, but the plot is sort of like premonitions. The main character has haunting dreams of a killer in her home, and wakes up to find odd notes, strange messages on the answering machine, and other creepy oddities along those lines. She eventually comes face to face with the mystery killer (in a dream first) and demands answers. None are provided, and she is forced to find out for herself. I was also thinking of a sequel (Nightmare: Game Over)('R's are still reversed) and has a similar concept to a movie called Stay Alive. (Ever heard of it?) I'm not entirely sure what it's about, (my book; not the movie) just that once you play this accursed game, you start having strange dreams. You can only escape by playing your own version in your sleep. By taking the right path, you will eventually find out who the killer is. That's about all I have at the moment.

On multiple occasions you can breathe underwater but not in space, or vice versa.

The only thing that doesn't make sense is: how does putting on a raccoon suit allow one to fly by wagging one's tail back and forth, and also allow one to randomly become a statue? SMB doesn't have to make sense, I guess.
