Thanks so much for the compliment. ^_^ I spent the last couple of years working on my own to figure out how to work with the pencils more. And they had classes for basic Drawing and Life Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Textiles, and Sculpting/Pottery. I think when I was about to graduate, they were starting to incorporate some computer-based art stuff into the curriculum. XD As for fantasy, I love drawing fantastical creatures, like unicorns and dragons (although not very good with them yet lol), and non-human beings like elves, or people with magical powers. Stuff I can have fun coloring. =3 And reference pictures are the bomb. ^___^ Especially until you can start seeing things better in your mind's eye. Which I can't do so well yet. lol
Yes, you see a lot of children who don't know how to behave now, and their parents usually talk in a cutesy voice when trying to reprimand them. Or don't even try to do anything at all. Granted, I don't have any children and I know it's really hard being a parent. But if they would just -look- like they were trying...
lol I think Americans like Australian accents because, as a people, we're not really too polite. XD Very informal and such, that's us. ^^ Actually, I think no matter where you're from, you always like other accents. I've had people tell me they think American accents are cute. o.O I think they were from England or something. lol
Oh yes, sorry about that! The more gold that is generated, the less that gold is worth, because more people have it. So since more people have more gold, sellers raise their prices in the marketplace and they can expect people to pay that much. That is because there is a surplus of gold in the 'economy', with people sitting on large amounts of gold, just waiting for something to buy. lol Does that make more sense?
Well, kindness does seem hard to find on the internet. The younger people kind of grew up with this anonymity, and a lack of consequences on their actions for the most part. So they tend not to censor themselves maybe? I'm not sure, I don't have a lot of contact with irl younger people, so I'm not really sure what their motivations are, except maybe they think it makes them sound cool or something.
We so think alike about EI generations. lol I'm actually trying to sell a 1st gen Gogh reed on my other account, but wouldn't you know it, the prices are going down. I -would- try to sell during the only really unpopular evolution. lol Prices for the 1st gen have dropped like, 40-60k in a couple of days. >.< I just figure I'll wait and see if it goes up again after the next evolution. 3nodding
Yeah, some EI's do tend to lean toward one gender or another. Like the Biancamella, which is all pink and gold. Not my thing. XD Yet some guys on Gaia do like to cross-dress. lol I don't want to judge, and some of them are really good at it. And look really cute. ^.~ But it does leave out the Gaia population who are male and want to look it. I happen to look kind of between at the moment apparently. ^^ I keep getting asked if I'm a girl. And one guy in towns was calling me he/she/it. lol
I completely agree on your MC assessment. Instead of buying one or two Sealeds anymore, I just wait and see what they are. For instance, neither of this month's collectibles appeal to me, so I just saved myself 30k or so. ^^ EIs, especially the higher priced ones, are a much better long-term investment. Although even lower-quality MCs can be worth more later on, say, in a few years. If you're willing to wait that long. I'm waiting for Wild Things to go up further in price so I can at least get my initial investment back. lol
I know, the Katana has become kind of a status symbol, although not nearly as affluent as Horns of the Demon or Devil Tail, or the Angelic Sash or some such item. The main reason I wanted it thought was because of the culture. I think the Japanese language is beautiful to hear and fun to say. I have a friend from college who is fluent in Japanese, and she lives in Japan now and works there. So cool. ^____^ And it's really neat to find out stuff about other cultures, what they respect, how they think and feel about things. So interesting. o.o
I hope the signs work, you're right. ^^ Those little masked faces are just too cute. They look like little baby animals even when they're full grown, with twitchy whiskers and cute little noses. You forget they're a part of the weasel family, with very, very sharp little fangs. XD
I know the movie! lol Heh... Now -that's- a knife.. and that poor wannabe mugger is just like 'What the crap??!' XD I think I liked the second Dundee movie the best, not sure why. But the first one was good too. 3nodding The second one took itself a little less seriously I think, with lots of humor. ^_^ I like humor! And it's not a very functional sword, with the way the hilt is decorated. But it sure as heck looks impressive. Heh heh... not that I can use it, mind you. But I love the craftsmanship in swords and katanas. That's why I have a few, Christmas presents from the Highlander catalogue. Used to be a really, really good customer of the company. lol You get plenty of sleep! o.o When you submitted that to my profile, it was only a little after midnight here. Unless you spent an hour or so responding. Heh.

Wow, that sounds wonderful. ^_^ I think working with kids is a rewarding experience. I'm a patient person, but I dunno if I'd be patient enough to handle kids. lol I was trying to find work, and a friend was saying I could be a substitute art teacher, because I wouldn't have to have a Doctorate to do that. And I'm like.. um... maybe not. sweatdrop I don't want to be responsible for the education of impressionable children in any way, shape or form. lol
Aw, poor Australian currency... Kind of like the difference in a degree. When it's close to the angle's origin, it's tiny. But the further away it gets, it get bigger and bigger. That is just a bit sucky though. I must say I'm glad to live in America. But I adore the way you 'speak', AKA type. I can 'see' your accent, and I LOVE Australian accents. ^__^
Okay, more items, less worth deal. When something is made en mass, that is, a LOT are produced, the item is common and easy to get. So the demand isn't too great because they're readily available. However, when you have something that is hard to find, such as an older, rarer Monthly Collectible, let's say the Angelic Halo (one of the very first MC's) which is rarely seen anymore, the value of that item goes through the roof because it's not easy to find, and collector's with money to spare could/would be willing to pay a high price. Even the really hard to get items from the Emerald Seed, such as the Warmth of Apollo, are pretty high.
lol You're not stuck in a time warp. I really think the 'older' Gaia gets, the more people join who don't know how to behave themselves when it comes to interacting with others. Yes, you can correct someone, or point them in the right direction. But there's no need to flame someone, even if the same question has been asked hundreds of times. And I learned pretty quickly that I want to just buy things if I like them. I usually sell an earlier generation of an EI and buy up a newer one for a profit, but I still have the item. lol I'm not a vendor by any stretch of the imagination, no Gaian economic sense here. XD
Luckily I don't want a Journal. lol The outfits are really nice though, and it's nice that they have girl and guy stuff. So many complained that Evolving items were either male or female oriented, and that some of the population was being left out. lol I like the hat okay, and the skirt looks nice, but I wouldn't wear that. Heh. ^^ It looks/looked really nice on you though. 3nodding
The Pearl did? Really? o.o I haven't looked at it in forever. I think the poses, while nice, are disappointing a LOT of users, so the demand is dropping. That and when new items come out, the trend turns toward them for a bit, and older items are forgotten for a while. I myself keep forgetting to check the price for the May sealed envelopes, although they really haven't dropped below 40k since they came out. Maybe a little bit, but not by much.
Let's see... items that I love on Gaia... well, some of my really high favorites would be the Ancient Katana (I like Japanese culture ^^), the Demonbow (love the backwings, I use them a lot), and my Superior Skin (for the feline 'pose').
Yes, ferrets have the cutest faces! ^___^ They definitely look cuddly and cute. lol Veeery sharp teeth though. My sister works at a pet supply store, and they carry small animals, including ferrets. One of the girls who work there got bitten by one of the young ferrets and she wasn't happy. They also have to post a sign on the cage telling people not to put their fingers through the bars because they can and will bite. That's mostly for the kids though I think.
And yeah, being shorter does help me look more like a real decoration. I'm a little over 5 feet, by three and a half inches. lol And you can find Halloween decorations that are taller than me. o.o Skeletons that are six feet tall and such. xP I try to have decent props too. One year, I wore a black hooded cloak, and black sweatpants and boots, and a loose-fitting costume shirt with long sleeves. And I used an actual sword that I have, a katana with an ornate hilt shaped like a fantastical Oriental serpent/dragon creature. It has golden accents and it's kind of heavy. So I was balancing that a little and it looked really cool, especially when the sunlight was on it. lol I had boys staring at my sword for most of the evening. XD

Yes, I like/love to draw. ^^ I'm getting back to the 'love' part. lol I usually just draw what comes into my mind. Sometimes 'original characters', people with no background or anything that I get out on paper in a drawing. I like fantasy stuff mostly, although I've done some slightly more realistic things to try and work on my eye for detail and such. I've got some examples of my avi art at the bottom of my profile if you care to see. ^^ Still working on my technique though. I have a Bachelor's Studio Art degree, but they didn't have a major in pencil drawing, or teach us how to use coloring pencil. So I've been working on that more on my own. I wish I could draw animals better, I can do them if I have a reference but it's a little harder just from my head, and I don't generally do 'technical' stuff like machines and such at all. lol

*tries to respond to every point and hopes he doesn't miss one lol* Well, I used to be lifting very light weights with that wrist regularly and it was helping. I just haven't done it in a while, so I need to stop being lazy and forgetful. lol And stocking does hurt my wrist some if I don't keep it exercised and strengthened, so I have an Ace bandage wrist brace to help. I wouldn't mind the employee discount at an art store. lol Keep my supplied with coloring pencils and sketchbooks. ^___^
Where did you use to work? (short response, yay!)
Yup, accessories can really make an avi! ^^ Although I love actual clothing items too. lol So I'm happy either way. 3nodding
o.o I forgot about the exchange difference in some countries... That sucks. *sympathy hug*
Actually, the point of the tax is to remove gold from circulation, not put it back in. The more gold that is generated from the stuff like Booty Grab and puzzles and random items (like getting mythrill coins), the less it is worth, and the more prices go up in the marketplace. Annoying. sad At least serious vendors can use the Exchange, but from what I've heard it's changed in there. People used to go there to look for deals on stuff, but now people are just using it to avoid the tax, and charging marketplace prices.
Yeah, history is cool! I haven't gotten one, but I'll be watching yours. XD I always check the EI reports, even if I don't have anything evolving that week. I want to keep up on the Gaia happenings. That and Timmy and Singh are amusing. lol
I don't usually use slippers. lol Not my avi style, unless I'm doing a pajama party theme for the guild I'm in. And I'm sure the Pink Bunny Slippers will go up in a year or so, since they were actually kind of hard to get for a change. It also depends on how much people want them too; some stuff that was hard to get wasn't always popular, so the demand wasn't high and the price didn't go up. Other things that were easy to get are popular and are halfway pricey for being so new, like the Crazy Core Skittles contact lenses. o.o
Ferrets can bite, especially if your fingers smell like food, but you can teach them not to bite you by working with them and handling them to 'gentle' them. Good idea to wear sturdy gloves of some kind too. lol Young ferrets are especially bitey I think because that's how they play.
I think the trick-or-treating age is probably like 14 or 15 around here. Not sure if it's official, but that's sort of a general rule. Although we had a few older boys going around getting candy. At least one of them dressed up, the rest didn't though. XD They just got a couple lollipops each, none of the good stuff like chocolate bars and things. lol

Well, the wrist thing is chronic, I just need to strengthen it a bit and I keep forgetting to do that. Thank you much though, you're sweet. ^^
Yeah, the whole 'experience' thing is a killer. Which is why some colleges have work-study programs to help with that. At this point though, I'd be happy just stocking again. lol Just something. There's actually a Micheal's store really close by, which is an art supply and craft place, so it might be neat to work there. I applied once last year I think, but was never called. *shrug*
Yeah, it's the hardest and most rewarding job there is. ^^ Not even the title of 'dad' comes quite as close. ^_^
I miss shop updates.. I have very limited cash at the moment, with no income. So yeah, with the insane prices, it's really harder to get what you want. *sigh* Tektek is my friend too. lol Awesome place, although I wish they had more profile themes to check out.
Yup, the economy is messed up. Not many people are willing to sell those hard to find items, so they skyrocketed. Unfortunately, some Gaians are willing and able to pay the really high price, and that just helps encourage the sellers to keep it high. sad It's truly a shame to see those new items become so 'rare'.
I don't think I'd have the inventory space for all the EIs. lol Sheez, with all their poses and stuff and the sheer amount that are coming out. o.o I had a little store of older stuff, but just a few things and I sold them already. XD Oh well. In another two years, the event items of yesteryear are gonna be hot! We hope. lol
I didn't know that about Kaya. o.o It's cute and all, I think I have one somewhere. lol But yeah, it does look 'unfinished'. Maybe they just didn't finalize its art style or something. It is a little weird, even Benny the Puppy looks more finished. I like that tiger item idea, the mix of cute and fierce would really appeal to more people, so maybe they could sell more. The Wild Things just look awkward, but who doesn't love little companion poses? ^^ And I love my ferret too. His name is Pogo. biggrin I like the idea of a pet that will never die, that I can keep forever and ever. 3nodding
My favorite part of Halloween is dressing up and being living lawn decoration. lol Most of the kids are like, 'Is that real?' It's so fun. I don't scare anyone though, I just like to dress up, and that give me an excuse to do it, since I'm too old to actually trick or treat. ^___^
