about me
It's been a while since I've updated my profile, so I decided to do so again. My profile layout and "about me" will change often (the previous more so than the latter). Just a lil heads up.
My name is CeCelia and I live on the west coast. My birthday is June 30th, and now that you know I'm expecting presents. Not really, but they would be loved. I'm happily married as of March 10th of this year and we are currently expecting our first child. She's our little surprise, but we couldn't love her more. We've decided to name her Kiera (pronounced Keer-a) Alessandra. Kiera is Irish (like my husband's side of the family) and Alessandra is Italian (like my side of the family).
I am a regular in the LD. Although it's not as good as it used to be, it's still my favorite forum. Some of you may recognize me from there. I've been known to be both a b***h and nice, depending on what the topic was about. I can be nice, but I'm also very blunt when it comes to stupidity. I think being blunt in most cases is the best way to go, since sugar coating your ideas can often change what you originally wanted to say.
I love books and music. Reading is a big hobby of mine and I love hearing recommendations from others of a good book they read. My favorite book that I have come across so far is the Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks. If you like action packed fantasies that also hold some truth to them, you'll love the Sword of Shannara. It's the first in a series, technically (there are books based on a time before the Sword of Shannara, but they were written afterwards). I love all kinds of music, but rock and many of its branches are my favorite. I also love to play music. I can play both clarinet and piano, but I enjoy playing piano the most. I get no greater satisfaction than that of my fingers gliding across the ivory keys and spilling out my emotions in a musical form.
I love to play games. Video games, board games, you name it. I love them all. I love playing the classic Mario and Zelda games. I also greatly enjoy the Final Fantasy games, skateboarding/aggressive inline games, the guitar hero games, smash bros, and family friendly games. My husband is obsessed with WoW and is trying to get me to convert as well. Hehe. We also play D&D every other Tuesday with a group of friends.
Some other things that I love: The Big Bang Theory (a television series), orange juice, the smell of the pages of a new book, the smell of freshly cut grass, large bodies of water, rain, walking on grass barefoot, swings, sunsets, horror films, feeling my baby kick, garlic toast, Italian sausage, traveling to foreign countries, ducks, and of course, my hubby.
There are many quotes that I personally love and live by. One of which is "dum spiro spero," which is Latin for "while I breath I hope." Two others, that are closely tied together (in my belief, at least), are "carpe diem" and "laissez les bon temps roulez". "Carpe diem" is Latin for "seize the day," while "laissez les bon temps roulez" is French for "let the good times roll." I love quotes about life, philosophy, love, and inner strength.
