First of all, vampires is just a term I use to get the point across. I'm well aware that it is rather a stretch.1. Yes, my 'vampires' can go out into the sunlight. They'll just cut easier, not that it took much to begin with.
2. They can go anywhere without being invited in but most of them are polite.
3. Holy water only affects them if they believe it will.
4. Crosses, again, only affect them if they think they will.
5. Yes, they do have reflections. Unless we're talking about the old mirrors which tend to get confused with the high pheomelanin levels. (A lot of my vampires are red-heads.) Same with the old automatic doors.
6. Yes, they need blood to keep themselves alive. They also need to eat and drink. They need blood (or rather a specific component thereof) in roughly the same way as diabetics need insulin.
7. Are they sex symbols?
Are humans sex symbols?
8. Again, churches only hurt them if they think it will. See Nocebo effect or points 3 and 4.
9. Well, the stuff doesn't really die since it's manufactured, most of the time. Yes, dead blood works but not for very long and it only slightly relives the lack of 'live' blood.
10. Some can shapesift, others can't. That's due to the setting being highly magic-infested though.
11. No, they cannot fly. They're too heavy.
12. Yes, vampires can breed. All they are is humans with an autosomal recessive inherited disease.
12.5. No, there is no such thing as a half-vampire.

Non-vampires are: PP/Pp
but most likely PP, since the 'p' allele is rare.
Pp x Pp though, result in PP, Pp (really pP and Pp but capital goes first) or pp.
PP, are non-affected, non-carrier humans.
Pp, are non-affected, carrier humans.
pp are vampires.
Yeh, you can't be half cystic-fibrosis or half-vampire for the same reason.
13. They do not sparkle, unless you count the red shiny blood from the fact they cut easily.
14. Sunlight is the thing that makes them cut more easily. Standard indoor lighting won't work.
15. Yes, a stake through the heart will kill them. That'd kill anyone. They can die in a fire. Decapitation will kill them, it'd kill you and me, so why wouldn't it? No, sunlight won't kill them.
16. Most of my vampires can use magic which is again, due to the magic-infested nature of the setting. O neg blood types cannot, again, due to the nature of magic but that applies to everyone else too so...
