I'm Rodolphus Lestrange. Eldest son of Renaud Lestrange. I have a younger brother, his name is Rabastan. Don't mess with him or I may be forced to torture you until you go insane. I've got a wife. You may have heard of her, as she's quite infamous. She is Bellatrix Lestrange. We have an open marriage, as neither of us truly wanted to marry the other. But, since our marriage was arranged by our parents, we didn't get much say in the matter.

I became a Death Eater when I left Hogwarts. Rabastan followed soon after. I was glad that he joined, some of my fondest memories are of the missions that I was sent on with Rabastan. My father was proud that I became a Death Eater. However, I didn't join to make him happy.

Rabastan, Bellatrix and I, along with Barty Crouch Jr. were sent to Azkaban for torturing the Longbottoms to the point of no return. It was fun. I enjoyed it and towards the end, Alice Longbottom was laughing too. I think she enjoyed it as well. For fifteen years I sat in Azkaban. Guarded by Dementors, day and night. All happiness being drained from me. It was horrible.

Then, the Master came for me and the others. I was free once more and what was better, my brother and wife survived also. We were free to once more cleanse the world of blood traitors.

Rodolphus is the French form of the name Rudolf. From the Germanic name Hrodwulf, which was derived from the elements hrod "fame" and wulf "wolf".

The name 'Lestrange' echoes the French phrase "l'etrange", literally "the strange one". In old French this would in fact have been written "l'estrange".

Oh yes sir he is. I'm quite jealous of Draco also. He gets to roll with you big guys! The only good thing about him leaving is that I'm leader of the Slytherin Gang. But it was much better with him here.

Yes we are. In fact we recently went on some what of a vacation from the Dark Lord's order because he granted it to us. Of course your wife refused the vacation of a day off of running and fighting.
